Meh. Adequate. Unimpressive. Available. Not entirely spotless (they don't change the pillowcases all that often).

Small beds. The door would not stay locked at night and our keys would not work after the first night locking some people out.

My husband being the travel bug, gets put into these assignments, so I, the good wife, will bring our child in tow and explore his new ventures ~ even if it brings us to Pittsburg, KS! The Hampton Inn & Suites is what's happening here in Pittsburgh!!! The welcoming concierge, JIMI, ASHLEY, and Kelsey make you feel So welcomed, and are always readily available to assist you in any of your needs...They are nothing less than WONDERFUL! I know, because we are here all the time. The Hampton Inn's free "loaded" breakfast in their lovely, comfortable lobby is an added plus, PLuS! The area is roomy, and the ambient lighting invites you to hang out and have a couple bagels...or maybe those ginormous waffles with coffee while watching the weather channel. Kimmy, the breakfast hostess, and the manager, Autumn, do a beautiful job greeting and keeping the place groomed for you. I love the gym! It's roomy, clean, and no one is ever in there. Nope, not ever. It's all mine when I'm there and I love it. They also have a pool, which is heated most the time...no spa or jacuzzi - fine by me. The rooms...Spacious, well kept, great beds, etc. Mmmhm, very nice!! I enjoy it here...There is a casino down the hall...I wonder if there is a black jack table...Gotta try my luck. This is the place to be if your coming out to Pittsburgh. It works for us.

He definitely made the check-in easy and had me laughing. The pool was warm and relaxing. Breakfast was okay and had a decent selection. There are only 2 cons I have is the 4pm check-in and 11am checkout. With a 4pm check-in it should be a 12pm checkout. Also, being locked out of the room and hotel from the batteries dying. Will definitely try to get to Pittsburg for a day of swimming and relaxing a few times a month.

Avoid at all costs. I was in town for a wedding yesterday. Upon arrival, the hotel smelled like…read moreurine (pet friendly hotel) and when asked about extra towels for the pool was told they were cleaned out because of the fact they had most of their rooms full for the weekend(?). There were water stains on our ceiling, quarter-sized chips in the paint/plaster in our room, drapes appear to hand splatters of something (booze?) and broken tiles in various parts of the hotel. Given the fact it was a graduation weekend, we were able to look past most of it. The real rub came when I got home today 2 hours away and immediately realized we left my suit in the closet. I knew exactly where it was and called the office to ask them to grab it for me - indicating I could drive down the next day or pay for shipping. The person, Courtney, at first seemed nice enough and indicated she would look right away and call back. 2 hours went by and I thought I'd check in. She said she had looked and checked with housekeeping and It wasn't there. I was disappointed and figured it was thrown away (it was a custom suit) but really not totally convinced there was a real effort. Later that evening, my cousin (the bride of the wedding the day before) called to thank us for coming to town for the wedding. I shared the story as a (typical day in the life) about the suit situation and she insisted she go to the hotel to check one last time. She got the same person I had talked to by phone who explained she talked to me on the phone and said it wasn't there. I was told she also allegedly said, 'he had cute kids and all abs I bet they probably stuffed it under a bed or in a bag or something.' Thankfully, the owner happened to be in earshot, overheard the conversation, asked what's going went to check the room and came back with two hangers and my suit which was exactly where I had explained where it was. This story is just one of many that many others of my extended family had about the service here. Two stars ONLY because I have a suit back in my possession but one for everything else. Go to the Holiday Inn next door if you can.

There were no questions when we went in or left about the dog and the dog, and the dog had clearly identified service dog information attached to him. This hotel is as it turns out pet friendly for dog exactly like mine. Quiet, will behaved and 20 lb and just one dog. But again, I did not need to register him and I cannot be charged for him. 2 days after the visit I looked back at my credit card and it had been charged an extra $115 for the dog. I have looked back on the website and can find no way to contact either choice hotels or the proprietor of the business to ask about this. I will try calling their front desk but most of them have very little hard to do anything about this kind of an issue. I will be contacting my bank and disputing the additional charge, but I shouldn't need to. I did have a reservation to stop there on my way back home for a night but I will be changing that to a different hotel chain.

We were driving up here…read morefrom Houston for a funeral and wanted a comfy place to stay and saw there was a new La Quinta. We have pretty good luck with LQ plus I get a discount through work. The place is clean and the staff was good. The bed was definitely comfy but the pillows were so fluffy they hurt my neck a little. I know, I know, first world problems. The room was big as was the bathroom, and it had a nice shower head that didn't hit you with wimpy spray! The maid was not so great though. She came in and made the bed and did nothing else the first day. Which is fine except we were out of tissues and toilet paper. So we saw the maid in the hall as we were leaving and asked for more tp and tissues. When we got back we had the tp and tissues and clean hand towels and wash clothes but they took our bath towels and didn't replace them. We got some from the front desk but it was all a little irritating. The breakfast was good. Your normal fare of waffles, scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy, sausage, breast, etc. Very few pastries though. No danish or cinnamon rolls, just little blueberry muffins. They had an indoor pool but no hot tub and after a 12 hour drive, I sure could have used one! It was quiet and clean though and that's a plus! It is across from the cemetery though so be aware if that gives you heebie jeebies. I'd stay here again though as that doesn't bother me! Maybe that's why the Bible was in the room.

I feel sorry for the people in the room underneath this one. Just gross. Things leaking everywhere, doesn't even look like housekeeping touched this room.
