Saw ... Project Hail Mary and it was so so good I feel like I need to buy the Tshirt. Well done Hollywood. Quality of theater itself ? Ok .. seats are semi comfortable, Could be better ... my bum bum hurt after sitting there for 2.5 hrs With 36 minutes of ads so in actuality I sat in one position for 3 hours and 6 minutes and if I had known that going in .., I would have brought a pillow , a seat cushion and a blanket. read more

Regal Hollywood - Ocala - Are they still in business ?? - Cinema Near Me - Ocala, Florida

The seating! They are horrible. Too straight with no real movement for the back and too hard. In this day and age especially with a large number of retirees you need better seating and they should recline. That's why Epic theater is always full. Those of us with back problems can't go to your theater even though we live very close to your theater. I will go to Epic or to Regal Celebration in Gainesville for RPX. I miss my Regal theater (from before we moved to Ocala) and being an unlimited member. read more

WARNING: This review contains spoilers for 2001: a space odyssey, the movie I saw at this theater Regal Hollywood -- the perfect blend of blissful nostalgia and bowel-shattering anxiety. You can tell this theater's seen better days, with broken neon signs and relics of yesterday everywhere. With a bit of renovation, this theater would look even more beautiful as long as they kept the 80s charm. The staff work a bit slowly, but i get it. The audio itself made me feel like I was HAL getting his brain dismantled, but instead of painfully and depressingly having all my memories wiped while i quietly mourned the loss of my identity, instead I was just getting my brain blasted with audio that made my life flash before my eyes. The popcorn tasted like pure heaven, but the sierra mist tasted like pure mold. The bathrooms are simultaneously clean and disgusting, perfect for throwing up all of your popcorn. However, I think before you show 2001: A Space Odyssey at the theater, you have to give a warning that the movie contains loud alarms that sound very similar to fire alarms. I had to get up and tell fellow moviegoers that there was not a fire: it was just the movie. read more

Reason 117 that Ocala is worth the trip down from Gainesville: Regal Hollywood theater. Living in Gainesville, there are three different Regal theaters to choose from for your viewing pleasure. Oddly enough, Gainesville does not have a Regal IMAX screen, so if you want this, you need to make the drive down to Ocala. Regal Hollywood gives that classic theater feel. The parking is easy with plenty of spaces. Inside the workers were friendly and helpful. The building itself is a little older (compared to Regal Celebration Pointe in Gainesville) but the seats are comfortable and the theater rooms were clean. Whether you want the IMAX experience for your next film or just a regular 2D screening, Regal Hollywood in Ocala is worth the trip. read more

My wife and I went to Regal to see a showing of "Asteroid City" as at the time it was the only theater in town playing it. Obviously, it is not a mainstream movie so we were in one of the smaller theaters. The ushers were nice and there was a good selection of snacks. My only issue is that the seats don't recline and by the end of the movie, I was very uncomfortable. Other than that, it was an enjoyable movie experience. read more

I would come again but only for a date night or with friends m as far as small kids I would refrain as the seats are narrow and they also don't have trays for the seats for your food which I'm used to . Obviously it's an older theater and they have it very well maintained . We just moved here and one thing I wasn't a fan of was the staff did not make you seat if the meal deals before ordering which would have helped . We got the presale which was very greasy the popcorn which was your typical movie popcorn read more

Very nice place will be go to movie theater.Clean, choice of adult beverages and food,

I drove 30 miles to take my family of 4 to a movie. I am a regal unlimited member. I was told by the female manager with black hair that a child has to be 8 years old to see a rated R movie per policy. My son is in 1st grade, 6 years old. I ended up having to buy the popcorn they made for me then I left. read more

I got into town the other day and i had free time before I was going to call it a night so I decided to catch a movie. "Vice". I popped into Regal early to grab my ticket early. The gal working the counter was as friendly and helpful as anyone could be. She let me know the movie was fairly unsold so no reason to go in early. At the concession stand I got a glass of wine. Unlike many concession movie place people, the girl I got was pleasant as well. She explained the wines correctly, which was unexpected. Usually teenagers can't pronounce most except "Malbec" Once I was ready I walked into the theater and noted it smelled clean and was, clean. What I didn't expect was, I was the only person there. With action and comedy's in the other theaters I shouldn't have been surprised. That just meant more room for me. I picked the best spot and stretched out. It was a great experience. I wish it happened more often that I like the unpopular movie. read more

Overall good movie theater But costumer service is terrible everyone cranky and just rude. And the seats suck I've been in a couple of theaters were most of the seats were either broken or In bad shape. the prices are extremely high 8 dollars for a large soda and almost 10 dollars for a popcorn. the lines are ridiculous took me 30 min to get through not including ordering. Would not recommend this theater. read more

Way overprice took my kids for matinee and still spent 70$ (just for a large popcorn and drink with the 3 kids tickets 1 adult) absolute insanity for a outdated movie theater, they still have the folding seats in the movie theater they don't have the dream loungers like most theaters do now days on top of that there were buckets though out the theater for a leaky roof absolutely insane! read more

Clean and comfortable!! Great experience. Highly recommend this theater for your next movie. read more

The continued insistence to search women's purses upon entry "for weapons" is outdated, invasive and sexist; as women carry personal items in their purses, and men are not asked to turn out their cargo pant/short pockets, their waist bands, or expose their ankles for holsters/weapons. The search is truly about power and continued erosion of your civili liberties. My date carried a clutch purse and declined the illegal search and the manager STILL ran us down to search her bag, though policy clearly states intent is large handbags (for what machine guns?). If they were truly concerned about ouside weapons there would be a metal detector and pat down at the door and all sexes would be subject to this search. Recommend voting for freedom with your feet until civil liberties are restored. #FreeAmerica read more

Warning: Bring earplugs and don't waste your money on the imax screen. The screen is much too small to qualify as imax, and it's damaged. The sound in that theater is absurdly loud - I wish I had brought earplugs like I do at a concert or when I work on manufacturing floors. I saw a couple leave the (extremely good movie, Dune) with their hands over their ears because it was so loud. Parents should not bring children to that theater, it was so loud. I cannot stress enough how uncomfortably loud the theater was. It was enough to make my ears ring afterward. We only get the once set of ears and Regal doesn't want you to keep yours. Bathrooms were clean. Attendants were helpful. Two matinee imax tickets, a popcorn, and a drink ran $51.52. Between the price and the hearing loss, pretty sure I won't be returning to this theater. read more

I'm thinking I returned on an off day. There was no one to take my ticket inside, no usher in or near the theatre room and no one at customer service. On top of that, there were a TON of large boxes stored right out in the hallways (see photo). read more

Picking the seats before hand is annoying and time consuming. The line is too long because some people have a hard time doing it. There are a lot of elderly here in Florida! I realize that having employees selling the tickets are going the way of the dodo bird. Every thing is with your phone/ computer, which I think is BS because where the heck is everyone going to work? Sad state of affairs. We go to the movies at least 3 times a month with our friends , and they are trying any other theatre because they don't want do this new ticket. read more

I really like the Ocala Regal 16 versus our Gainesville theaters. Just saw Interstellar in IMAX. While it's a small IMAX and costs $16 The sound was great, the seats were rocking full head lounge seats. Service was very good. The theater was very clean. read more

Yeah! Movie time, let's stop and take out a loan! LOL No seriously... My goodness, it costs us near $55 for four people to enjoy entering the establishment... To have popcorn, it's another $20.00 with a small beverage! We didn't need snacks, though... LOL Anyway, great environment. I love going to the movies. The hustle and bustle of the movie establishment and people rushing to the theater. I also didn't have to wait in the long line because we bought our ticket on-line and picked it up at the Fandango Ticket Booth. The kids and I hurried to our spot and had a great date night. Although we can't afford to go much, it was a truly great night! It was clean and the people were very friendly. #FlauntNow. read more

Won't go back. We've been a few times. I don't like the fact that they want you to open your bags before you go in. What are they? The NSA? And what exactly are they looking for? Husband and I both have guns as well as conceal carry permits. They don't care about that. Oh wait- I think I know! They are looking for someone trying to bring in water - because a bottle of water is $5.50 - what a joke. They flash their combos on the screen, but have no price listed. Their medium combo - a medium drink and popcorn is $15. Sorry, but for two people to see a movie is going to cost you $40 if you share a drink. Totally not worth it. I'll go to the Marion Theatre any day or wait for Red Box before I go to this place again. Words of advice- tell your corporate guys to get a grip on the prices they are having customers pay for concessions. 5 cents it take to make that Dr. Pepper and 2 cents for popcorn and you charge $15. No... just not. This is Ocala- not New York city. read more

I just saw Godzilla IMAX2D in auditorium 2, Row-I. So, I go to this theater often and generally would rate this theater maybe four stars. But the sound volume in the movie today was quite loud and unbearable so I'm dropping the rating to three stars. I would have left the show to tell management of the sound loudness issue, but I didn't want to climb over the other movie goers in my row. I believe the sound level in this auditorium today exceeded a threshold that was safe to human ears. An hour after the movie completed my ears and head are still throbbing. I've attended several movies in this very same IMAX auditorium, so I know today's sound was excessively loud by normal standards. It was so loud that it detracted from the overall experience. Next time I go there and the sound is too loud, I'm going to exit and ask for my money back. By the way, to get five stars from me the theater will have to install luxury recliners--and of course fix the loudness issues. read more

Concession lines are always long and slow. Workers move like turtles. The last three times I just gave up. I'm not waiting a half hour to buy $20 popcorn. Hire some employees. I thought they made most of their money on concessions. It's a pretty sad place to see a movie. read more

Taking off a star for bathroom nastiness. As in, always. But they have a good selection of movies, comfy seats, and air temp is good. The clientele, at least in the daytime, is nice. For a nice day date, I recommend you start off across the street at Maddio's pizza, throw in a nice walk at Scott Springs, and end with something cold from Sonic. All within half a mile of each other approximately. Just don't stay in the friend zone (from one of our favorite movies). read more
