Our movie experience watching Avatar: Fire and Ash was pretty amazing. We'll definitely return. Although renovations were underway to update the theater lobby we didn't have any interruptions during our visit. Restrooms were clean at this time and the popcorn was freshly popped! They offer many different popcorn containers with characters and swag. Parking is ample with ADA spots right out front. It appears this particular shopping center, called the Boise Spectrum Center is trying to refresh their look. Many of the previous tenants I remember have come and gone but hopefully there will be new eateries occupying the vacant spots. read more

Admittedly, it has been a while since we have been out to a movie, Tron Aeries in IMAX seemed like a great idea. If you've never seen a pharmaceutical ad in IMAX, hearing about side-effects and leakage, you're really missing out. Next time, we'll show up 15 minutes after the "start time." From a noise-dose perspective, the volume was a bit much, typically ranging from 80-90dB. It just seemed loud to show off, not to make it a great experience. Theater was clean and the chairs operated properly with good comfort. I might consider some hearing protection on a revisit. read more

RPX had a great screen and very comfortable chairs. However the sound was genuinely ear-piercing. My ears were ringing after the movie and I covered them during the loud bits. Asked the staff to lower the volume just a bit but that never ended up happening. Went with 10 people and everyone had the same impression of the volume being way too loud. Normally I wouldn't write a review for a theater being too loud but it was by far the loudest thing I've ever heard. Baffled at how the staff thought it was an ok volume. read more

My fiancé and I just went to this theater for the very first time for a date night. We watched the live action Lilo and Stitch in 4DX! (If you don't know what 4DX is, the seats in the auditorium move like a thrilling Amusement Park ride and there are all kinds of special effects that make you feel like you're part of the movie! We had water sprayed at us, wind, scents, at times we felt a little jab in our backs from the chair as well as something tickling us from under the seats and saw flashing lights a few times too) it was the coolest movie going experience and we were laughing all through it! It was a really cute movie too ! I highly recommend going to see a film in 4DX here, it's a bit spendy but worth it for a special date night! We likely will check out some movies in IMAX here at some point as well. I will say I'm also pretty impressed with the overall look of the theater and the cleanliness of the women's bathroom- cleanest restroom I've ever used in a theater and it was a big restroom too ! We live in Nampa and have a REGAL CINEMAS there close to home but we hate that location and avoid it at all costs as it's filthy. I would gladly drive the 25 minutes to come to the Boise Regal CINEMAS instead ! read more

I went to see a movie that had an advertised start time of 5:30pm. After 30 minutes of advertisements the movie started at 6:00pm. If I want to be subjected to commercials I will stay home and watch TV! No wonder people do not go out to movies any more. read more

They turned their movies up too loud and give you a hard time about turning it down, so it doesn't blow your eardrums out very disappointed in the customer service. I've received there because I attend the movies regularly, but will not be doing so and will let all my friends know, and I have heard others try to get it turned down and was given a hard time too. To be clear this review is for IMAX and not the regular Regal Edwards My brother was in town and we both wanted to see Top Gun 2 I purchased the tix online for a Sunday night show at 9:30 pm. The IMAX also has another movie that's playing but we'll get to that later. To say that the IMAX in Boise is dated would be a severe understatement. Things have not changed since the last time I saw an IMAX which was a Great America Park in Santa Clara. The show was On The Wing circa 1986. Nothing has changed since 1986 including those hard-back chairs with the sticky floors. We'll actually some things have changed, Popcorn is now 12 bucks, and sparkling water i6 bucks. We sit down and there's a total of 9 more movie viewers with us. After a while, we decide to move one row down and we settle in. The previews come on and the last preview is for an unknown movie with Roy Schneider which I thought was weird, like really weird. The movie comes on but I don't see the Paramount logo. Hmmm The screen is dark then I hear one of the most iconic movie soundtracks, The Jaws theme. We're not watching Top Gun 2 but Jaws 2. Oops. My brother gets up and leaves to tell the operator that Jaws 2 is playing and comes back to sit down but Jaws 2 is still playing. A random girl strips off her clothes while a dumbass guy is following her tripping every step of the way as he not thinking clearly. She gets into the water and makes it to the first buoy and sooner rather than later, Jaws has a spectacular snack. She's thrashing about screaming and the guy is on the shore completely unaware that the shark had a feast. My brother and I look at each other and we're wondering if Jaws 2 is really going to continue or if Top Gun 2 is going to start. Moments later, Jaws 2 comes to an abrupt end as Roy Schneider wakes up out of his bed. By the way, Top Gun 2 in IMAX was hella worth it. If you haven't seen it, go see it and maybe you'll get a bonus of 20 minutes of Jaws 2. read more

Dirty! Came on Sunday 11:30am showing. Bathroom trashed from Saturday night. Toilets clogged. Whole place is under construction. They recently upgraded the seats but they are squeezed together and they don't recline back like the village or luxe. Movie was set for 11:30am, didn't start until 11:54-12pm. Not a big fan of this theater. Not worth the money. Go somewhere else. read more

Had a real fun time here while staying at the hotel nearby. Went and saw Aliens 4DX and it being my first real 4DX experience it was really intense and fun. The theater was not very busy, but the staff was friendly and everything worked out great here. read more

Saw flight risk in 4DX. Best experience ever. The staff here were very professional the theater seats could use a little cleaning. When you're being tossed around it's kind of hard to hold on to your snacks lol. I would definitely do this experience again and we are seniors read more

I have been meaning to write this review for a while. We went to the opening weekend of Mortal Kombat and it was a blast. The service was great. The showtime we showed up for was already full but the girl at the ticket counter was very helpful and we purchased tickets for the next showing, which turned out to be advantageous since it wasn't as crowded and we could go get a beer at the cool new watering hole in the middle of the complex there while we waited. I am most especially thankful for Dmitri and the other guys at the concession stand since they went to the trouble of checking the oils the popcorn is made with for us. Apparently the corn is popped in coconut oil (yes, i'll take a large!) but the topping is some nasty soy oil (no thank you!), and I really appreciated they checked both and were honest about it. I made a mistake when I purchased my tickets for Superman on the regal app. When I arrived it was 10 minutes before the start of the show and the issue was brought up. Justin the shift leader on this day around 11:30am was able to fix my problem so that my son and I had a great time at the movies ! Welcome back, edwards. I really can't remember the last time I went to an actual theater. I ran into a couple of obstacles coming here. We ran a little late to our movie because they were not really specific about which theater Black Widow was at. Just say either edwards or IMAX. They only say standard imax, 4dx, or screenx...really?? The cool part about the theater is the kiosk. As usual edwards had a skeleton crew. Let's be realistic, Idaho isn't as busy at the theater. I couldn't really see theaters staying in business since 2020 simply because not very many people go. There was a line at the box office, so I ran over to the kiosk and got my tickets. Basically cut in front of the line. Now, I have a backpack that I use for my purse. I just got back from vegas I'm busy! Nobody has ever had a problem and I've been in theaters before with it and no problem. The ticket taker decided to give me grief over it. Give me a break, my partner had enough room in his pockets on his pants to sneak things in and you have the nerve to bother me? I don't know if he thought I would have weapons, but that's not how the shooter at the Batman movie brought in his weapons. Movie theaters don't pay their workers enough to even worry about what their patrons have on their shoulders. Let it go, sir. A little unerved, I gave him my best assertive attitude, "It's my purse." As he continued with his attitude I just ignored him and went to catch up with my date. Overall, it was a great experience, but I have been to way cooler theaters with a much better staff. read more

The Boise IMAX theater is a bad place to see a movie...very dated accommodations the seating is terrible, the chairs are hard and very close together it's not worth paying the extra money for IMAX viewing you'll be uncomfortable the entire time...in addition the concession stand was out of most refreshments on our recent trip there with the excuse they had a big weekend crowd...don't waste your money stay away from this venue!! read more

It's a really impressive theater! Its huge. There are several snack bars, which keeps lines reasonable. There is neon everywhere, which might be a little overwhelming for some visitors. The front lobby has some games-- claw machines, air hockey, a couple of other classics. The seats were comfortable, you can see the screen perfectly from every seat in the theater, and the whole theater seemed clean. It really makes going to the movie feel like an event. I don't really have much interaction to rate but from my time at Edwards 21, I am going to go with four stars. Everyone at the theater was very friendly and we were welcomed with smiles and hellos the whole night. I like friendly people because I tend to be over friendly myself! The only disappointing encounter was a large line to get tickets to the show. We thought we would skirt that by going to the self-serve ticket machines to the side of the ticket window. Well to our amazement, we couldn't buy tickets to the show on the machine, hence that large, winding line to get tickets. The line ended up being pretty short because the high school-er behind the ticket window glass was slaying it! Thank you high school-er with a smile! Once we got past the ticket line I was able to enjoy all the bright lights. To be honest, I felt like I was... at a fair... in Vegas... at a PARTY! Edwards is a huge establishment and although I enjoyed all the oohing and ahhing, I can't imagine this place on a Friday or a Saturday. I am sure it would feel like New Orleans during Mardi Gras. We went on a Monday night and it was heavenly! The theater we were in was huge with space like looking chairs to sit in. They rocked so of course like the child I am, I had to cozy in and rock a few times to get settled. After one too many previews, the lights dimmed and it was movie time from there! read more

Have to add to bad reviews of Imax theater. It is an incredibly uncomfortable theater. The seats are hard and provide no legroom. It's like traveling on an airplane. Additionally, the theater wasn't even unlocked at 11:15 for an 11:30 (am) show. Several patrons were forced to stand in the rain while someone went to the regular theaters to remind theater personnel there was a show starting in 15 minutes. Once we were in the theater and seated, the sound came blasting on, but there was no picture. This lasted for most of the previews (which I normally really enjoy), about 20 minutes. At the end of the movie (3 hours), I could barely stand after having my legs compressed for that length of time. It was a truly miserable experience, and I won't be returning. read more

Fantastic theater! Very bright with the lights, very colorful! You'll love it! Very big! Expensive treats, but they all are....tickets are all about they same as all the big theaters. I think its a dollar more than the Village, but don't quote me on that... Its a great theater. Its massive! I love it! :) You can't go wrong :) read more
