My date brought me here so that we could get some snacks. I ordered a mangonada and he got some nachos. Service was quick and didn't waste any time with getting our orders out. My date is bilingual in English/Spanish, so if you don't speak any, it might be a language barrier since the staff speaks Spanish. My date ordered our snacks for me. They have plenty of seating in front of a parking lot and some towards the back and left side of the restaurant. The mangonada was tasty, even had real mango chunks in it and the consistency was a slush form. I asked for no chamoy, but it came with chamoy. It was sweet and spicy. My date appeared to like the nachos. The parking is quite limited in the front, so that might be tricky when it gets crowded. It definitely got crowded quick. read more

Hands down best refresqueria in Pasadena. This lady truly takes pride in the food/snacks that she prepares. Open all year long... She is a sweet lady named Santa who genuinely cares about her business. It's nothing like those business that start off awesome and end up disappointing you. All of the other refresquerias in Pasadena can't hold up to Matamoros. Their mangonadas are great. The Hawiianas are great. The elotes and cotel de frutas... Mmmmmmm. It's all so good and the ladies are so nice. In this Houston weather, where rain can just pop up outta nowhere, they have a nice little covered area just in case. This is my family's Sunday tradition, and before we found this spot, we'd tried almost every other popular refresquerias in town. This is the spot for us. read more

A tiny hair too sweet but thats just me. $3.00 Hawaiiana-fresh cut fruit, ice cream, shaved ice, n condensed milk: 5/5. Absolutely Devine. Now, most places dont go into detail. Theyll just top it with fruit or ice but this place...they take the extra step n layer in the ingredients so u dont have to mix it up urself in the narrow, skinny cup dropping everything. I usually dont like condense milk unless its in vietnamese coffee (cafe sa đá ) but i loved it in this dessert. $4.50 Elotes-corn with parmesan cheese, mayonnaise, butter, hot sauce. 3/5. Just about the same everywhere. The only difference is how cooked the corn is. $3.50 The entire time i was there (plus the 10 minutes i took to read the entire menu plus ask questions) , there was a line. They had loyal customers to want cold snacks when it was windy n 60 degrees outside. The cashier spoke a little bit of English so dont worry, he can explain the menu. read more

Refresqueria Matamoros is a must for my family on the weekends! The nachos, different variety of raspas (leche, horchata, chamoyadas, etc) elotes, chicharrones preparados, the fruit platters, Mexican candy! I can go on and on. My husband usually orders the chamoyada, my two boys will get nachos and raspas with gomitas and I'll order the raspa de leche. My favorite raspa de leche would have to be the strawberry flavor but vanilla is just as good, just my personal preference. The lady at the window is very kind and helpful and the service is always fast! Parking is limited in the front but there is a lot in the back with plenty of space. The only downside is they don't accept Visa, just cash. Besides that It has great variety, always fresh, excellent taste! Take your money to Refresqueria Matamoros! read more

My favorite mangonada in Houston (and I've tried from many other refresquerias) I like that they put chunky of fresh mango in them. They have a large variety of sweet desserts to choose from. They were busy, but kept the line moving. As I was waiting for my item, I was scoping out everyone else's food/desserts and everything looked so good. The fruit is fresh!
