I'm SO grateful to finally have a great Dentist! We've lived in the area for more than 30 years,…read moreand I'd previously tried many (more than a half dozen) of the supposed "best" area Dentists without finding anyone that consistently did good work or that I was happy with. Dr. Boltwood on the other hand is absolutely fantastic. She's gentle, compassionate, meticulous and detailed - something I very much appreciate as someone who's experienced exactly the opposite with so many other area dental offices. But aside from doing really solid work, I've found her to be a very down to earth, genuinely nice person who's easy to talk to and who takes a sincere interest in her patients. Even though I (like most people) never LIKE going to the Dentist, I'm a lot more comfortable going to Dr. Boltwood than I've ever been going anywhere else - because I know she'll do a consistently great job, take very good care of me while I'm there, and will frequently follow-up afterward to make sure I'm still doing OK. Others in the office including her assistant Dawn, office manager Kathy, hygienists Annie, Beth and Dee Dee are all great as well and it's just an all-around good group of people. My wife is also a patient and has had the same great experiences. In short, we can't recommend Dr. Boltwood and the rest of her team highly enough.

So I looked into local pediatric dentist and this one seemed good. we went in with our family dentist care plan and the tooth that needed the fillling. they insisted that they needed to asses her themselves and since our insurance was going to cover it I said okay. They then proceeded to tell me that my daughter needed 6 fillings and 3 crown!!!! Again we see our family dentist every 6 months and get yearly xrays done. I felt completely overwhelmed when we left after the initial visit but knowing we needed the one tooth filled i agreed to a slow treatment plan with the first vist tackling the original tooth we went in for and one crown. They contacted my insurance and gave me our cost for everything. I then had my daughters new X-rays sent to our regular dentist since we had cleanings in just a few weeks. After the initial visit with Clarkston pediatric dentistry filling the original tooth we went in for our cleanings with our family dentist he took a look at her X-rays and said do not let them do anymore crowns since those teeth were baby teeth and not long for this wold. I felt horrible that I put my daughter through all that and almost let them give her a moth full of metal. Since then 2 of those teeth are very near falling out and one is already out. they also charged me more after I canceled the remaining appointments which were several weeks out. this was on top of the original payment I made and what my insurance paid. I see though that they are doing away with delta dental because they can not agree on prices and what they should charge for services. In my opinion this place is strictly in it for the money they will fill fill fill any tooth to get paid. Please be careful and get a second opinion if you get told a ridiculous amount of work that needs to be done on your child's mouth.

The staff was horrible since we were children. They were rude to us, ignored our questions, yelled at us, even held down my younger sister when she was a scared 5 year old. Parents aren't allowed back there for a reason. In terms of dental care, they are awful. The orthopedic is amazing, no complaints. My sister and I both had wonderful experiences there. But the dentists are awful. They never answered our questions as children and even as an 18 year old. They would tell us they would talk to our parents instead. When it came to dental issues, they weren't taken seriously. We were always told to "brush more" and that we weren't doing a good job, even as 17 year olds who were brushing multiple times a day. They would tell us our teeth were fine with no issues, when in reality we had cavities and issues with our teeth. They wait until it's too far to fix these issues. After we turned 18, we switched to a new dentist. At the new place, 6 months after our last cleaning we were both told we had multiple cavities and issues with our teeth. My sister had to get a root canal when she was told her teeth were perfect 6 months ago from the pediatric dentists. At the new dentists we were treated with respect, and actually were given information and answers to our questions. We were given real advice rather than "brush more" and able to find the cause of any dental issues. This place traumatized me and my sister as children. We struggled for years and were extremely afraid of coming to this dentists due to the disrespect and awful patient care. There is a reason parents aren't allowed to go back with their children. I do not suggest any parent take their children to this dentist, take your money elsewhere for better care and a better experience.

They did two crowns and 4 fillings in one very aggressive visit. And one of the crowns is dug into her gums and cut. At one point I stopped the procedure and told them enough... At which point the dentist told me we cannot stop the procedure because then she will think she can stop anytime! They tortured her and now she is rightfully afraid of the dentist. TDR has the latest technology in terms of diagnostic tools, appliances, and internet service. You can see your child's pictures on the website if you create an account, so the parent who is not able to attend appts gets to see. They explained very clearly what they wanted to do and why. They discussed pros and cons of treatment, best case/worst case scenarios. They had us wait on braces for my son stating that his adult molars needed to come in, and they explained that his canines should drop naturally, and they did (which means less time in braces) So I did not feel rushed/pushed into anything. After my daughter's palate was expanded they put in a maintenance appliance that is much easier to eat with and care for. They discussed my insurance with me, answering all my questions. Their communication and paperwork is forthright and clear. They offer 5 & 7% discounts if you pay up front with credit card or check. I get appt reminder text messages. I have never waited more than 5 minutes for my child to get onto their appt. They highly encourage patient responsibility and care, so they educate my kids about brushing, etc. That's a huge support as kids don't like to listen to their parents. Their prices fall within national average for service, tipping slightly toward the higher end, from what I've researched. My son's Tx was 5k before insurance & discount, my daughter's $3700. I feel like I am paying for peace of mind and time (they save me time). My daughter's teeth look great, and turned out just as they predicted. can't comment on my son's as his Tx isn't done yet. The assistants are super nice, relate well to the kids, and remember what you talked about last time. My ONLY complaint is that the female doctor started pulling my daughter's teeth (the roots were gone, they were caught on her appliance which is normal) without saying what she was about to do. It did not startle or hurt my daughter, j surprised me. I did not know anyone at TDR before I was referred there.
