I asked for a sample box from their Optical Boutique and showed them the paperwork from the Dr. I was told I had to buy a full box before I could get a sample. I was willing to take one contact lens....one. Once again I was told I had to buy a box for either myself or someone else, but had to purchase a box before they would give me a sample. Absolutely ridiculous. By the way, they quoted my mom over $600 for a nice pair of glasses. I got the same pair for over $200 less online. I am willing to pay for service, but over $200?? I had called 3 other optometrists in the Jackson area today, and 2 of them were more expensive, and 1 did not call me back speedily. Dr. Lee returned my call immediately and had the best rate so I decided to give him a shot. I think this was possibly among my favorite visits to a health care practicioner of any kind! He really heard my concerns and preferences about my glasses prescription (most optometrists end up with a prescription that is too strong for me and gives me a headache) and took so much time to explain and answer random questions. Maybe people in the south are just friendlier! I am told they are, as I live in California. In any case, I am referring my best friend who lives locally in Jackson and went on Yelp especially to start a new page for his business - as Yelp does not seem to be heavily used in Jackson, MS so far as I have noticed thus far in a week of living here for work.
