The shop's 1940s atmosphere and music were exactly what I had hoped for, but the service and cleanliness fell short. The website described the $50 Ultimate Shave as including a hot towel, shaving both with and against the grain, eyebrow and nose grooming, and a brief facial massage. My husband only received a shave with the grain, and afterward, several areas of his face still felt rough. This wasn't the thorough, smooth shave we expected. I also noticed thick dust on the interior shelves and boxes of razors and shaving products. An old-school atmosphere can be charming, but a business providing personal grooming services should be spotless. My husband did find the experience relaxing, which I appreciated. However, for $50, customers should receive the complete advertised service in a clean, well-maintained setting. We left feeling that the experience didn't deliver the value or attention to detail we had hoped for.

I decided to give it a try. As this was my first time, I let their online booking system choose the person for me. Dasha did a great job. I recently had backsurgery and she was very gentle and made sure I was comfortable at every step. She was very through with the shave and the facial at the end was great. I'll Certainly be back for another Shave with Dasha! Also, I bring my son here. He's 9 yrs old and loves getting his hair cut by Seth. He picks out a photo in advance and we show Seth what my son wants and Seth makes it happen! He's very detail oriented and has a great eye for style! I have also visited Seth from time to time and each time he nails it. We'll be using Seth again for sure! Overall, everyone here is very friendly, greeting you when you enter and wishing you a good day when you leave. They're constantly cleaning up the hair on the floor, so the shop always looks clean. I'll be right with you." Dom calls me up at 12:40pm. He seemed to rush through the haircut and shave. He spun me around so much it gave me whiplash. By 12:55pm someone else walks in, shakes Dom's hand, they shoot the s***, and Dom says "I'll be right with you." By 1pm, Dom says we're all set. He obviously wanted to be on time for his regular customer and rushed through me. I paid and left, never to return. I paid for a 1 hour session that lasted 20 minutes. Looking in the mirror, it was the worst haircut I ever got. It was comically uneven in the back, and they left plenty of hair on my neck. My wife even laughed when I got home. Luckily my friend was in town and was able to fix the uneven spots before a party that night. I had to shave my neck where Dom missed. The lack of acknowledgement when I walked in, the indifference towards the late call, the rushed uneven haircut and shave to take the next client on time, are all reasons I will never return. There was no apology and I felt like they couldn't care less. It's one of those places that only takes care of you if they know you.
