I'd forgotten the large amount of shitck and comedy involved, which had I understood more German, undoubtably would've been hilarious. What does read across the language barrier: the FAAABULOUS queens. I was able to enjoy the show by picking up on gestures, short phrases I understood, and the crowd's reactions. The entertainment acts were infectious and littered with international popular music. Once the ladies get going, everyone's up, dancing, and having a blast. Two things for tourists/Americans: 1 - Yes, there's nudity. Yes, there's both male and female nudity. Again, it's no big deal, but if that's not your thing, an European cabaret may not be the place or entertainment for you. 2 - Minimum drink order of 20 Euro is mildly steep, especially if you're a beer drinker. I also know little German but I can tell you that the show was excellent, a lot of interaction with the audience and I laugh a lot. Regarding the cost, you need to pay 15 euro for the show and to use other 20 euro for drinks. I paid 26 Euro for 3 glasses of Glenfidich and one soft drink. My wife paid 22 Euro for one cocktail and one glass of Martini. The service was excellent and my wife found her cocktail well prepared. Overall I can tell you that I was very nice surprised how a small community could have such good and entertaining show.

They serve wine, beer, pretzels and the lot. The theater itself is rather big. I am not sure how many people fit there, but theres a Parkett and Balconies (loges). I was sitting almost at the top of the parkett area and naturally its built in a slope so everyone was able to see the scene without problems (except for me, who was unlucky to have the tallest man in Hamburg in front of her :( ) Evita was in english and there were subtitles (actually supratitles?) on a big screen hanging on top of the scene. that was quite annoying, people had to twist their necks to be able to read. It was either read or watch the show. you cant multitask, fortunately for me my english is better than my german, so i was able to understand the musical without referring to the sub/supratitles I dont have any complaints. Would gladly be back if there's another interesting show (in english)

While it's not horrible by any means, my boyfriend, who is a trained sound engineer, kept complaining. There are a few petty issues I have with the theater, however. The toilets are located in the performance hall itself - if you'd like to use the toilet during the show, you're ushered off into the neighboring pub. There are poles extending down from the ceiling in the middle of row 6, and if you're stuck behind them, you won't see a blasted thing. Overall, it's a decent theater, but that's where it ends. It attracts some great names at decent prices, though, so if you're looking to see a performance by some of Hamburg's originals, this looks to be the place to go.
