Stumbled into this department store when walking around the downtown area. It feels like walking back in time coming in here, like an old fashioned department store, and I mean that in a good way. I only checked out the kids section. But they actually had awesome stuff. Not cheap, but great selection. High quality kids brands such as Beaufort Bonnet Company and other boutique type brands. I've been going to Reed's since I was a toddler. I've seen a lot of reviews saying they're expensive and they are, however, when they have a sale they have a great sale. One Black Friday at the Downtown Tupelo store they had super expensive shoes marking them down to just under $20 a pair. Between my Mom, sister and I we bought about 60 pairs and I know for me I couldn't afford to get my daughter those brands, well I could but I wouldn't because I love bargains and $200 boots aren't a bargain. Some of the shoes we were getting for $20 were $400+! We also told everyone to go so they could get bargains too. If I'm honest I think if you can walk through the door more than a couple of times a year you know what stuff costs so you probably don't need the sale. I think we were in a right time/right place moment. Honestly, I've never had a good experience in the ladies' side. There have been some snobby women working there through the years but I always give them a chance because the people in the Children's and Men's sides, Mall and the Bookstore have outstanding people! That women's side alone would be a -1 if I'm honest. The thing that impresses me the most is I've never been to the Downtown location Men's Store that Jack Reed hasn't come to say hi and can we help you find anything and before that the eldest Jack Reed would always stop my Momma to say hello. I don't have a childhood memory of any stores that I feel nostalgic about but Reed's (and Midsouth Nursery) are in my childhood good memories. I can remember Jack Reed Sr giving my siblings and I coins to ride the rocking horse while our Mom shopped, I can remember picking out my first doll, my fondest memory is a Paddington Bear but he was wearing an old time men's sleeping gown and hat. I had him wherever I went and passed him to each of my children with the hopes of one day seeing my grandchildren love him too. Until we moved the last time and my husband's aunt threw him away (because "who keeps an old bear?") I'm not over it yet! I don't have precious material things except that bear. Anyway, if you appear rich check out the women's side and absolutely check out the men's, children's, Mall are and Bookstore rich or poor because they will be so nice to you! Remember if you aren't rich you can always get a super price there and the older I get, I know the more expensive it is usually means the better quality and heirloom quality it is. I'd still rather get $1000 things 90% off or better off but if I'm going to splurge it will be with this store because I have some pretty precious memories with them. read more

Great experience! Super store with super products for women & mon of all ages! It's always a real treat to shop there anytime ! I highly recommend Reed's. A little pricey, but their target market has the ability to pay. I love this store. It is such a refreshing alternative to the tire, boring stock maintained by most stores. It's always great to give a gift from Reed's, because the recipient's eyes light up as they observe the packaging from Reed's. This is the nearly everything you need store. The best part about Reed's is the customer service. The people are so friendly there. I bought a linen skirt, adorable, for 75% off. They have beautiful formal dresses. I visited the gift shop and bought Tupelo Honey which is not easy to find. read more

The Reed's in my city closed down a few years ago. I would only go in there if I was looking for something in particular and they have great sales. I was in Tupelo for a business meeting and wanted to stop by to get some shoes that I know they carry. I walked in and was never greeted which was different but oh well. I went straight to the shoe department and looked until I saw what I came in for. There was someone tearing down boxes in the area that never said a word. She then went to a back room, came back out and asked if I was doing alright then walked off. No one ever came to see what I needed or asked if they could help. I felt so out of place that I decided to leave. I can order the shoes on line from the company. No need to chase someone down to help me. The store was not full of customers either. Maybe 2 or 3 other people were in there besides me. They have very nice things. The non existent customer service made me uncomfortable. Where I shop is a choice. I'm not mad, I will just choose to not come back nor recommend it. read more
