Well... what an awesome place this is! And the prices are fantastic! In fact, my daughter was at the outlet stores in Orlando this past weekend and the goggles were $10, but we bought two for $15 at TiLLY'S today. This store has a large selection of backpacks and lunch bags. See my photos! And Lani, who by the way, is just the greatest ever, said they are getting a new shipment in for back to school [Aug. 15th]. Speaking of, they have a section of clearance items at 30% off, and a lot of clothes, shoes, and accessories throughout the large, but crowded store. I really don't mind the trade off though because they have a lot of variety to fit within the allotted space. I made a mental picture of a few things we both liked, and we will be going back (Lord willing] this coming weekend! TiLLY'S is very accessible. I was greeted by a sales associate, she told me about the discount and gave me the layout of this (small) shop. I looked at some men's flip flops, they were $32 and 30% off. In my opinion, that's pricey unless you are paying for a sandal with more support. I was also in the Disney store and they had this brand for $8.99! They do have a lot of colorful designs and fun patterns. I did see some other espadrille like shoes in stock. Apparently these shoes are made in Brazil, they aren't for me personally, but time will tell on how popular this shop will be!

Lin was holding down the fort on a crowded weekday afternoon when everyone had questions about the flip flops, questions on the web site, and a hand out for a discount. I was waiting to pick up 3 pairs of the flip flops I usually pick up and wouldn't have waited it out if I dint get to hear how pleasant and professional Lin was with the two ladies who took up so much of her time on so much minutia who chose to be oblivious to everyone else waiting in the store.

One of the aspects that stood out most was the simplicity, the minimalism, so of course that same aesthetic is on hand at the Calvin Klein store. Imagine chic mannequins, staff, and layout. As for the clothes, more solids, a few patterns, and all nice. The staff will help you a lot especially if you mention the 3 or 4 things you are looking for. Best part of all is that this store doesn't break the bank. Now I understand how it's possible for nothing to come between people and their Calvins.

Today however I was walking around the mall and came across the Calvin Klein store near Nordstrom on the second floor and decided to have a look and see what they have on offer these days. Its a pretty nice store, easy on the eye and nicely laid out. No loud music and good lighting. The thing that stood out most for me was the staff. They were friendly and helpful without being in your face. I saw quite a few of them giving one on one attention to their clients, helping them out by bringing different sizes to the changing room if something didn't fit. These guys and gals hustled and bustled to make sure the customer was happy no matter who they were dealing with and I'm sure they have to deal with a lot of difficult customers who think they are something they are not. I found some nice purses that I must make a trip back to check out a little more closely when payday comes around again. They also had a pretty impressive clearance selection (hello orange cotton pants that I fell in looooove with). Its a little more expensive now that I have two kids to feed and clothe but I can see myself coming here for some good pieces to build my wardrobe. And seniors were rewarded by being allowed to wear dresses everyday- whoopie. As for the boys...a shirt and tie everyday! A uniform probably would have been easier, but thanks to J Crew I adapted to my prepster lifestyle. Each month I eagerly awaited the J Crew catalog to be delivered to my house and when it came I ordered it all: polo shirts, khaki skirts, and even bathing suits for my weekends on the Florida beaches. So imagine how excited I was when a J Crew opened in my local Town Center Mall. So much so that I actually applied for a job at the new J Crew, but I quickly learned that selling clothes wasn't nearly as fun as buying them and the whole working in the retail world lasted about a day. When I left Florida for college I don't think I ever stepped foot in J Crew again...ta ta khaki skirts and hello black pants and tank tops (i couldn't get enough of the black pant phase those first few years in college). I've been doing some bathing suit shopping over the past few weeks and have had trouble finding a cute bikini that's not super cheesy looking. Then I remember that J Crew used to have some fabulous bikinis back in my prepster days so I stopped in...and like my style this J Crew has changed and has opened up in a brand new location within the Town Center Mall. Everything in here is still super preppy, but some of it is so cute that it had me shopping once again for country club looking clothing. And guess what...I actually found an adorable seersucker bathing suit that fit me perfectly and was half the price of the ugly suits I had been looking at in the department stores. And I couldn't resist an adorable polka dot dress as well! The gals who work at this J Crew are also incredibly sweet and helpful...I may have stayed away for 10 years, but I think it may just be time to add a little preppy style back into my wardrobe.

I think their styles are a little limited. For example, there will be 4 styles in one category like…read moreultra slim and 4 other styles in normal. And the styles within a category aren't diversified. Like for example, my BF and I were getting him pants and all the materials in the ultra slim were cool colors- blues, harsh blues, cool greys. And then all the warm colors were in the slim section. So that's the problem. You get a right size but not a great selection for colors. Sales don't happen much so the sad thing is that the pants and clothes fit but you rarely get sales on them Service and attending were ok but I thought they were a bit more abrupt and not as warm as the banana republic or brooks brothers down the hall from them. I recommend they step up attentiveness from the customers. The dressing rooms are a little shabby with no tables or chairs inside so it's hard to try on pants and see what they look like sitting down.

So they have a very nice selection of sandals!! I was trying them on and discovered some well hidden sales and overall very good prices around this store! The cheerful patterns make these shirts very easy to distinguish from other brands. As a general rule expect to pay $200-300 for a shirt, but if you hit the store during a sale or clearance event, you can get some nice stuff for less than $100.

On this day, I found several that I liked but I wasn't supposed to be shopping for me. As I looked around, they were ready for the holidays with plenty of stock, neatly displayed.
