I got balayage done on my hair from Veronica! She did a fabulous job and I am so happy with the results. My hair was very dead from years of bad treatment and dying. She deep conditioned it and did a great cut to compliment my curls. The dying process took a long time as I was going from brown to blonde, but Veronica was so nice and talkative that it kept me busy. I highly recommend her! read more

This afternoon I went into Redz and Veronica Yates trimmed my hair. I am very unhappy with the results! I have a really short hair style, with bangs in the front, and buzzed on the back, nothing real complicated, I just wanted my current style trimmed. The back part is okay, its just buzzed with clippers, but the front part is horrible! I asked for my bangs to be cut blunt, so they are thicker at the tips, and straight across about halfway up the forehead. She butchered them! They are uneven, the right side is almost an inch shorter than the other side with longer and shorter bits in between. She also did something that made my bangs really thin, I have very fine thin hair, not the type of hair that you thin out. My bangs look as if a four year old got into scissors and cut there own hair! The bangs are all wispy, uneven, and not at all how I asked for them to be cut! I have never ever cried after getting my hair cut until today. With this salon having mostly good yelp reviews I figured they would do a good job. Also, a $65 hair cut should be great (she charged me $50). I should of walked out of there feeling like I had a great haircut, with confidence, but instead I walked out of there regretting it, and feeling like it was a huge mistake. I am uploading a photo of my hair after having it cut at Redz by Veronica, and a photo from about 6 months ago after having it cut at another salon so that you can see the huge difference in how the hair cuts look. I am very disappointed/upset with my hair cut and would not recommend this stylist/salon. read more

This review is for Debbie specifically. For the record, I don't give five star reviews because they seem so phony but I do feel more than a YAY about Debbie. I stumbled in here five months ago, busted, looking for a hair trim. I was apprehensive, I won't lie. I'm very picky about my hair and usually go through pretty intensive questioning before I agree to someone touching my hair. Its odd, I know, but Debbie was so accommodating with this quirk. I brought her an outright mess. My ends were split and frayed and like straw. She didn't bat an eye she offered her thoughts and asked me what I'd like. She delivered it, too. My ends and hair was so soft and flowed beautifully. I can't express how awesome of a job she did with it! I've paid upwards of $100 for a cut to get that before and they failed!! I walked out so stunned by what had just happened. I mean, the reviews were...Uhm not awesome but they were pretty old and the newer reviews were acceptable. I figured as bad as my hair was I had nothing to lose. I can't speak for the other stylists but I can speak confidently about Debbie. Debbie is a very good stylist. She knows hair and she is meticulous about making it perfect for the customer. She has high standards for herself and takes her time. Don't rush her, you'll be appreciative, I promise. When you make your appointment, make sure you expect her to be meticulous and most importantly, to take her time pleasing you. She's really worth every bit!! I've not left there disappointed by her. It's a long drive for me to come from Scotts Valley, so I've tried a couple other stylists over the years, but I always hate my hair and come back to Lori at Redz. This review is for Emily: I have been going to her for about a year. I came to her with black boxed dye hair that I have been doing myself for five years. I had just broken up w a bf and was just so depressed. I told her I wanted ombré and to be blonde again (like when I was 8). Emily worked on my hair for 9 straight hours on her day off to help get the black out of my hair. Every appointment I've had has been better and better and my confidence has has gone up dramatically. I've gotten her three other clients since I've seen her. Emily is not just a skilled hair stylist- she has an internal natural gift that not many stylists have. She isn't afraid to give you the truth. I sort of don't want to post this bc I don't want to give up my favorite secret in town. Be prepared to spend money, but every cent is worth it. read more

Hidden Gem! For a guy, getting a haircut can be trying to say the last. Barbershops sometimes half-ass it, but paying $60 for a haircut downtown or in the mall seems a bit unreasonable. I found the perfect medium at Redz. Emily did an excellent job fading and tapering my hair to give me that barbershop type of cut, while also taking her time and paying attention to every detail. Furthermore, she identified area's where other barbers had made mistake's cutting my hair before and even recommended sculpting products that were perfect for my hair type. Thats about as detailed as I can get given I know next to anything about hair. Not only is she my new barber, I feel like I've also gained an aesthetics consultant as well. Emily is as knowledgable as they come, and the staff and ambiance at Redz is everything a guy could ask for when looking for their next haircut. I'll be back for sure. read more

I wish I knew of this place before I was planning on moving! So I thought putting in a good review would show my appreciation. When I went in I was in desperate need of a trim, just something to bring my hair to life. I was thinking of getting bangs to cover up my big forehead but the owner, Laurie, asked me questions about my hair before determining anything about what we would do with my straw hair. And we decided that we would nix the bangs and just get it a trim and deep condition. I really give her huge points for assessing my hair behaviors instead of just doing what I told her to :) I really enjoyed talking to her and found it easy to keep a conversation going, I found myself opening up to her very quickly. I like that she wasn't judgemental or forceful of her opinion, I deeply appreciate her character. After a wash, a trim, and a blow drying....a beautiful hair style on my head was born! Lol. I highly recommend this place. And I must include that I am extremely picky and cautious about getting my hair done. I don't like anyone touching my hair but I trust her. Veronica is a fabulous stylist. I have two family members that started seeing her and now they refuse to let anyone else touch their hair. I love Joey. He does my color and cut and I honestly can't remember having a better cut. It always lays just right, even when I don't bother to style it at all (and by style it, I just mean blow dry). I admit, I'm lazy, and my hair still looks good. The shop is laid back and everyone I've met is nice. I tried to count how many people I know who see him (both men and women) and I know it's more than 12. I find that amazing! Redz is a great salon with a very friendly atmosphere! Sanya cut and colored my hair using nontoxic hair dye, and it looks absolutely beautiful. I can honestly say I've never paid for hair color that lasts this long looks this good. Sanya listened to me and gave me exactly what I wanted, and I get compliments on it daily.
