I toured the entire area inside and out and was very impressed with what I saw. Very clean, spacious, up to date. Looked and appeared to be more like an apartment complex that is well maintained. All Private rooms with each being a good size, and each had private bathrooms, cable, wi fi, Refrigerator, microwaves (not in memory care unit), decorated with the tenants own furniture and decorations. This made the rooms more like "home". Nice Dinning area, TV/movie area, game room etc. Very nice outside areas to walk or sit in. They could even put their on patio furniture and plants outside their rooms that led into the secure outside area. They have lots of activities and things to do as well as planned trips outside of the facility. The people who work there were very professional, friendly, and caring. They knew all their clients by name, greeted them in the hallways, rooms and activity areas. The clients seemed to be very happy and comfortable and WELL taken care of. They were moving around, smiling, laughing, talking to each other and the staff. They were not sitting in hallways, doorways, etc. looking lost, alone and miserable.. I was impressed!! It was fantastic being able to go into a facility like this one who is supposed to be taking care of our older people, and not smelling urine and not seeing an uncared for old overused facility/environment. 23 hours ago Vicki…read moredidn't give my Nana her diaretic for three days. She was sleeping fluid, and had to go to the hospital. Didn't appreciate the poor care they gave her. Also had an instance of bed bugs, and rude staff. Sadly my Nana passed away, and Viki had the audacity to show up and talk to my family. Travis was a rude man also, couldn't care less about my Nana. Just walked away. Also had issues with staff stealing her credit card, forgetting narcotic pain killers, and being left in the toilet for over two hours. Awful care, on the border of elder abuse. Fought with my grieving family, truly evil, cruel people.

It's a place everyone is greeted with a smile, and the staff all knows your name. Everyone is treated with respect, dignity, and the best care. It's a clean facility with many wonderful activities, and the best food and dining experience of any senior-living facility I've ever visited. We are blessed to have such a nice facility for our loved ones here in Abilene.

Mom's sister went by to visit and found my Mom dehydrated laying in bed in her on waste because she was so weak she couldn't get outta bed to go to the restroom on her own. There were two untouched trays of food on the kitchen counter in her room and the room reeked from her own waste. One tray was the breakfast tray and the other was the lunch tray, neither tray had been touched. The smell was so bad you could smell it the moment you rounded the corner of the hallway on the way to her room, it was impossible for anyone not to notice. The person that delivered the two trays of food should have done something or alerted someone of my mom's condition. I give this place 1 star due to the facilities but a zero on the care and responsibility of the staff and management. I highly recommend taking your loved one somewhere else.

However I still dont understand how they didnt see anything. He didnt void(urine) for 3days. He went back on the 3rd day and they question his urine output. They didnt even take him out of the bed to go to the bathroom. Put him in a brief. Mind you my father was up and moving around good after his hip replacement. If you dont get a person up to move around the chances of blood clots is high. So yes my father died from the blood clots that was formed for the hip replacement. I pray if you read this. Make sure you keep looking. You dont want your love one to go in the first day and be met with CNA's and nurses starting off neglecting your love one.

From the nurses, OT/PT/Speech therapist, CNA's, housekeeping to the administrative staff everyone has been wonderful. My husband is in rehabilitation and will be switching to a nursing home at another nursing facility as soon as they have a male bed available but I'm so happy that he was at Rosewood. Thank you
