Only popped into the general store on our way back to marble. A friend needed to grab ice was so glad we did though! This was a fun find. We looked in the little market - plenty of gluten free and vegan options available. Stuff was marked up a bit more than at a chain store but i am sure that is what anyone might expect. Grabbed a few snacks myself while we were here. Everything was laid out nicely and was easy to find some stuff that would be interested in. Staff was friendly. Store was clean. read more

I stopped by for an oat milk latte, and ended up with a gorgeous vegan skillet breakfast with fresh roasted beets, potatoes, spinach and onions, with a slab of delicious, creamy polenta and blue corn tortillas. (Non-vegan options were also available.) What a treat! Beautifully presented and healthy... and in one of the prettiest little towns on earth. Wow!!! This place is also a little market; lots of vegan, gluten free, paleo options, along with standard fare and a little liquor store off to the side. Amazing espresso as well with several dairy free milk options. This little business was bought by a young, idealistic woman just over a year ago and it's simply adorable. Great, casual outdoor setting with the sound of the Crystal River just a few steps away. Wide range of food and sundries very carefully selected and theres a wonderful vibe overall. If you find yourself in Redstone, (and trust me, you should!), this little gem is definitely worth a visit. read more

The charm is pure Redstone. A small group of women own the store and have assembled beautiful luxury items from pottery to wool hats, food provisions that belong in anyone's kitchen concerned with deliciousness and health and a small collection of largely Colorado wine and spirits. The owners along with their kids operate the store with signature warmth, touches like a basket of tablecloths and napkins for your outdoor dining pleasure and a menu that won't disappoint. Make sure you stop in Redstone for a bite or an espresso at the Redstone General Store and drink in this lovely mountain town read more

The town of Redstone itself is an absolutely gorgeous little hamlet. It's located off Rt 133 right beyond Carbondale, but before Marble. It's a quaint little Main Street to walk with access to the Crystal River. However in early July there is still a lot of snow melt so the water is cold and the current is fast. In the heart of "downtown" sits the general store. There is a food counter selling ice cream, coffee, pastries and an assortment of fried food. The store also sells cards and other trinkets. I didn't really look - I was there for the ice cream. In the back of the store are picnic benches/tables, a toy fort for the kids, and a wooden replica of King Kong. They actually sell candy cigarettes and bubble gum cigars inside the store. Love this place! The town and the store. read more

This place is such a hidden gem. Gena made us a gigantic sumptuous breakfast, taught us a couple things about the area and sent us packing with the most fantastic muffin I've ever had. Terrific spot to pick up anything you forgot and a bunch of stuff you didn't know you needed! read more

My husband, two kids, and I stopped in this last weekend to get coffee and ice cream to break up our long road trip. We walked in and were not greeted. We went to the ice cream counter, which is really an enclosed little closet in the corner of the store, and looked in. There were two employees in there. One was working and the other just looked at me. I didn't know if I was at the right window, since there are two. I went to the other window and heard the second employee talking to an older couple and taking their order at the window I was just at. My husband and I both felt like they didn't want our business, so we left without bothering to buy anything. The whole experience left a lot to be desired. read more

I've been coming to redstone ever summer since I was a child. This is still one of my favorite shops to go into to get treats and goodies.

Oh. My. God. We went in expecting your typical small-town general store stuff. Instead we got a hungry tourist's delight AND a community hub. Under new owners since January, 2021, this place is AMAZING. We were in Redstone for the weekend and went there three times a day. First, coffee and baked goods as soon as they opened--honestly, the best scone I've ever had--only slightly sweet, blueberry-chia, with a delicious, also-only-slightly sweet drizzle. Then a little later we were back for breakfast. Breakfast is whatever they're serving, and you'll be happy with it. We had a skillet built for two with eggs that had some greens and cheese, a side of buttery polenta, and a potato-beet-onion-pepper hash, plus locally made bread with a mixed fruit compote. Later in the day we were back for more sweet treats and souvenirs--t-shirts, stickers, and ornaments. Have kids? There's old-fashioned candy, toys, and all the natural snacks and groceries you could want. They have camping gear. They have local meat. Topographical maps. Tinctures. There's an ice-cream counter, a lending library, an air pump, a water station for the pets--I mean. Amazing. I cannot wait to go back! read more
