It is a nice record shoppe. They say that they have a * LOT * of vinyl and I have no reason to…read moredoubt this. I was disappointed by the items on display though as I could not find any of the records I was looking for. After collecting records for almost 50 year, I have become very selective :-) A lot of their vinyl are in the cabinates and "in-the-back". Although the location of this particular shoppe is not convenient for me, I dropped in as I was in the neighborhood. It is seldom that I get this far east of Vancouver and seized the opportunity. The people who run the store were friendly and gracious in that they allowed be to rummage through the "not yet cataloged", newly acquired items, Thankfully I did manage to find 3 items of interest, original pressings of "Small Faces", "Deep Purple", and one other. Although I considered these items expensive, I believe that I paid what they were worth. Like everyone else, I like to get a better deal. They were kind enough to play the Small Faces on their system, it was a little beat up and I needed to verify it's value. However, their sound system was ... amm .... er .... gee ... really bad. The speakers seam to be located at the back of the store and it sounded like the music was being played in a tunnel. A lot of bass was heard, that's about it. All I could determine was that the record did not skip :-( A shame, really, as they have spent a fair amount on the reset of the shop. The quality of the sound needs to be improved. It doesn't cost much to put some quality speakers throughout a store. Would I come back??? Purely on speculation? No, it is a long way to go! I would come back if they would be willing to work with me and put aside the items I am interested in. If I was guaranteed some good 'finds' then I would make the effort to drive there. cheers, Felix

If you dont see what you want or if the item isnt the grade you want...just ask. They'll have it somewhere or know who has it. The grades of records go from playable but rough covers to collector grade, so they hit all price points. When they are well stocked, its not uncommon to find multplie copies of an album with prices from a few bucks to $20...and he's probably got a primo copy somewhere, some ungraded ones waiting to be logged in, and a trashed version for free out in the boxes out front. I even check the free box outside for covers in better condition than one in my collection or for missing liner notes, etc. They guys are a wealth of knowledge. Just ask. They'll straight up tell you if the albumn is a first pressing, a re-issue, a bootleg, etc. They love music....and cats.

Retail formats included used vinyl LPs, 45s, and CDs (rock, folk, jazz, country, foreign, compilations) and some DVDs towards the back. I did not look closely if there were cassettes, other accessories, and other featured genres. Decent for a quick look-see for me, didn't buy anything though. Nice to see a vintage reel to reel towards the front of the shop too.

Folks, if you're looking to expand your old-school vinyl album collection, look no further.. this…read morestore has any album you could ever wish to buy in a multitude of genres.. and I'm not exaggerating! Even better, if you're wanting to get INTO the listening pleasure that only vinyl albums can give, you can find all manner of turntables, receivers, speakers.. basically anything you need to get started on the journey of discovering the rich musical sound NOT found in the digitally compressed music world! The owner, Russell, is thoroughly familiar with the various styles of music and the artists/groups (both well known AND obscure) and is able to make recommendations to customers who may be new to this type of ear candy.. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the very reasonable prices of both the albums and record players, I've seen much more expensive ones at lesser quality in other secondhand stores -and online- so believe me, you'll come back again and again! ((And may I give a plug about his radio show that is locally produced and available on the radio or streaming services.. see the attached photo, listen, and tell your friends!))

Russ and team are great people who love getting to know their clientele's eclectic taste in music. It is a great feeling to walk in and have the staff mention an artist you like and that they have something new or similar in stock. The reason for my updated review is the new store layout. The entire store has been revamped and is more welcoming to browse. There is even a new listening station setup! This is great for checking if a record plays well or if some wacky album art catches the eye. The variety of records coming in from the community is getting better and better with the offered genres beginning to expand. Prices are unbeatable for the quality provided. This is largely due to the focus being on people who actually listen to their records. New services such as turntable repair/setup is great to see. They even have some models for sale! Consignment is still going strong for some of the more pristine records available. Even so, they aren't priced unreasonably. (Again, focused on getting these records into rotation asap with a new set of ears.) My personal favorite is seeing local bands/musicians having brought in music to be sold. They even have a couple patches, buttons, and denim jackets for sale!
