She has a stylish, contemporary look, with colorful lighting and a bold design details throughout the ship. I was impressed by the ship's overall appearance and cleanliness from the moment I stepped aboard. Since Virgin Voyages is exclusively for guests 18 and older, I saw the classy, grown up vibe right front the start. I booked a cabin with a window and was quite impressed with the room setup. The moment I stepped inside, the curtains automatically opened to reveal the view outside, which was a nice touch! Everything in the room, from the curtains and lighting to the tv, could be controlled using a tablet. I found the lighting controls particularly interesting because there were different room moods to choose from on the tablet, creating different atmospheres. For example, selecting the "zen" mood automatically adjusted the lighting by to a softer, dimmer setting, creating a peaceful and relaxing environment. I also appreciated the complimentary water carafe which the room stewards replenished daily. It was a thoughtful touch. One of my favorite things about Brilliant Lady was the variety of dining options. Many dining venues are included in the cruise fare, and the choices go well beyond the traditional cruise buffet! Instead, Brilliant Lady offers a food hall style dining experience at The Galley, where different counters serve a variety of foods. There is also The Pizza Place for when you're craving a quick slice. For a sit down dining experience, the ship features speciality restaurants offering everything from steak and seafood to Italian cuisine, Mexican fare, Spanish inspired dishes and Korean BBQ. I loved having so many different cuisines to explore throughout the cruise, without having to pay an additional restaurant cover charge. Brilliant Lady also offers plenty of entertainment and activities to keep guests busy. I got to attend some Zumba classes in The Manor, the ship's nightclub and entertainment venue, and I caught a show in the Red Room, the ship's main theatrical performance space. I also loved The Social Club, a casual hangout spot and game room. It offers a fun, relaxed atmosphere where one can unwind, play games and enjoy some snacks and candy! Another highlight of my cruise was Scarlet Night, Virgin Voyages' signature ship wide celebration. The whole ship comes alive with red lighting and themed entertainment, and nearly everyone gets into the spirit by wearing red. The atmosphere is festive, energetic and so much fun! I especially loved the surprise entertainment throughout the evening, with singing, dancing and even magicians popping up to entertain the guests. Last but not least, having complimentary WiFi on board was a game changer! I loved that I was able to go online, send texts on board and have the ability to stay connected all for free! Overall, I absolutely loved my cruise aboard the Brilliant Lady! From the gorgeous ship design, clean cabins and variety of dining options, there was so much to enjoy! I had such a wonderful time and would happily daily with Virgin Voyages again!

It's a beautiful city. Driving through it is refreshing. Streets are clean and well maintained. Trees and bushes are nicely trimmed. Residence homes are gorgeous and quaint. Lastly, it's at the beach! I am not a resident, but I don't mind being a weekend visitor throughout the year. Pristine beaches and coastlines plus many dining and shopping options will bring me back to the City of Newport Beach every time. One of the Top 10 Cities in So Cal in my book!

This is not a thrill ride. You stay seated as a friendly employee briefly discusses the history of the Sky Cabin and surrounding sights with quips and quiddities as it slowly ascends to the top while simultaneously rotating rather slowly. Once the Cabin comes to a complete stop at over 180 feet above the ground, you are free to stand up and take in the "360-degree panoramic view of Orange County and Los Angeles" views. It turned out to be a neat mini adventure. The wait time was nada. That's 'cause everyone and their mamas was waitin' in line for the Timber Mountain Log Ride. Dang it. Enjoy the air conditioned cabin... the only thing I think needs improvement is the clarity of the glass. There were prints and scratches and... bird poop. Lol. We figured it was probably open on the other side, so we walked into Hawthorne and around to 163rd, and found that it was also locked there, too. I called the city to find out what was happening with the hours, and they shared that new hours were being enforced where the park now closes at 5:00 p.m. That's great for nannies, but working parents will only have the option of using this park on the weekends. It's absolutely adorable! Wish we could have gone in!

The "renovation" of Mother's Beach Playground was very disappointing. Instead of actually improving…read morethe playground, the swings were simply removed and never replaced. If the swings were considered unsafe, why were they removed instead of repaired or replaced with new ones? At the same time, there are still loose or missing bolts on some play features and open gaps on the elevated structures where a child could potentially fall. If safety is truly the priority, why were those issues left unaddressed? Now the playground offers much less for young children. Kids can't spend the whole time using only the slides. The swings were one of the best parts of this playground, and many local families came here specifically because of them. Please explain why the swings were removed and consider bringing them back. This playground was never truly renovated--it feels like the only major change was taking the swings away.

Everyone is split into two groups, and each group takes turns going down to the glass-bottom area to look at the fish for about 10-15 minutes. The ride was about 45 minutes. A couple of tips: use the restroom before the tour since there isn't one on the boat, and don't forget to bring a hat or cap, water, and plenty of sunscreen. Overall, it was a fun boat ride! Our captain was friendly, and we got to learn some local history while seeing Redondo Beach from the water. It was a scenic, relaxing, and memorable way to spend time out on the ocean.
