This is perhaps the most jumbled and frenzied of all the Kitchen Corners I've visited (those being…read morethe other location on 4th, and two on Commercial). It also has the biggest kitsch factor. Most recently I found my favorite discovery yet: Styrofoam heads. But I've also bought a tray, plant soil, fabric dye, a random vase and a cutting board here. The glue in the latter unstuck after a year, yet the damage is mendable. The staff is always helpful and candle selection here is fragrant and varied. In addition to the street level madness (and the sidewalk boxes), there is also a basement level filled with plant pots and soil. Kitchen Corner was the only spot I could find soil in February in order to re-pot one of my ailing houseplants. The prices aren't really bargains, but the selection is quirky and gives that garage-sale feel without that coating of yard-sale crud.

If you are into kitchenware, cooking and baking, entertaining, or serviceware, or if you are in need of a hostess or housewarming gift, be forewarned. You will find what you need (or want) here, and you will probably pay top dollar for it. And you will do so gladly. They have mainstream kitchen gadgets along with very precise and specific baking and cooking tools, along with fabulous Asian ceramic bowls and dishes and chopsticks and more. Ramekins in every color? Check. Contemporary placemats? Check. Pots and cutlery and kitchen scales and kitchen gadgets that I don't even know what they do but they look cool so I feel is definitely should get them? Check, check and CHECK! They carry a lot of OXO merchandise (I always liked the ergonomic nature of this brand's products, and they last a long time), and yes, some of these items are available at HomeSense at half the price. But they also have here obscure kitchen tools you can't find elsewhere. If you are seriously into cooking or baking, I'm sure you'd find what you need here. Some items are overpriced. I purchased two Swedish dishcloths here for $5.95 each. (They come in a ton of patterns and colors here, which is fun!). But I know these are inexpensive, and on my last trip to Bellingham, I got a set of three of them for $8. So they are quite pricey at this store. And I've seen some of their more common items for sale elsewhere at half the price they were selling for here. However, there were quite a few deals to be found at this store, too. They have lots of high quality tapered candles in different colors, only 99 cents each here. And they've lots of white ceramic dishware and serving pieces at extremely reasonable prices. If you search this store, you will find bargains. I have to add that the young ladies who work here are all super friendly and helpful, too.

After being greeted by the very friendly Ammar we wandered through the showroom drooling over all of the vanities. Before long my husband came to me with the 'I found the one.' look on his face. Yes he had! Lacquered doors, quartz counter, porcelain basin, beautiful faucet and soft-closing doors and drawers. As Ammar went off to get the price list I braced myself. I was expecting it to be really expensive compared to what we saw at Rona. Sure it was more expensive but you're getting what you pay for. We also got a toilet there and even its design is elegant (hey it's your porcelain throne right?) and simple. If you don't think items like vanities and toilets are exciting you should have a look in here. Drool-worthy for sure!

It's a great place to go in and just look around too and imagine all of the things you'd get for your ideal home etc. Everything is laid out nicely. Pretty long, but whatever, it's from Italy, and I'm not in a crazy rush to make toasted bread. 9 weeks later, after not hearing anything from them, I call them up, and am told it would actually take 8-10 weeks. 2 weeks later (total of 11 weeks), still no updates on where the toaster is or if it'd been ordered from the manufacturer at all. Was told there was "no way for them to know". Canceled the order. If you don't have something in stock, you probably shouldn't put it up for sale in your shop. --- Update: After cancelling my order, I ended up ordering the exact same toaster (same make, model, colour) from The Bay-- it arrived in a week.

I'd done a bit of research ahead of time and called ahead to ask if they could put a few planters on hold for me and they let me know they can always put items on hold as long as they aren't on sale. Additionally, I asked after a couple items that weren't on display I had seen on their site so make sure you check what's in stock before you drop in and while both locations in Vancouver do have similar stock they do differ slightly so I recommend going to both (although I think this one had overall better stock and service). I was helped by Jing who offered to open the boxes for me so I could review the planters for cracks before taping them back up. She was fantastic and incredibly helpful while I shopped. All in all, this was an absolutely wonderful location to stop into and I highly recommend them!

Otherwise this tiny space is filled with all the gadetry you might need for preparing the food you may have bought just across the street at the market. They have those cute stoneware baking dishes in different colours, as well as a few pretty things for the table. There's nothing here you probably wouldn't find at Ming Wo or Cookworks or a department store, but it's a nice place to shop for a zester or peeler or anything you might need at the last minute. Granville Island surely attracts many gourmet home cooks who'll like the toys and shiny things found here in this cozy shop.

Purchased Baccarat champagne flutes (2 boxes of 6 each) from Atkinson's. Did so as it was…read moremarginally less expensive than Bloomingdale's. Big mistake. Received boxes only to find that some of the glasses were (not subtly) broken - see pic. This happens - see prior review 1/15/25. Communicated by email to return items and was provided a return label. I will admit that we reported the broken glass after the 48hr period (although within 7 days), but that was only because we were out of town and did not open the boxes for some days after they arrived (accepted by doorperson in building in NYC). Because we technically did report after 48hrs, I agreed to pay the shipping fees (approx $100). They signed for and confirmed receipt of the boxes. This was in mid May 2025. We heard nothing from them and did not get a CC refund. We reached out eventually again end of June 2025. It took several phone calls to ultimately reach the person making the decisions. At this point that person refused to provide a full refund even though they were in possession of the entire order. He accused me of using the glasses (and breaking one apparently) even though there was no evidence to support this. To be clear, we purchased $3000 worth of glasses. I am a cardiologist and my wife is an attorney. We were being accused of behavior that we would NEVER engage in, as it is unethical and couldn't possibly be worth it to us. It was insulting and was added to the injury of not being refunded (despite accepting the fully returned merchandise). I am obviously involving my CC company to be refunded at this point. To be clear, I am not writing this review to strengthen a case for a refund (I feel more than comfortable that I will be made whole by the CC company, as they accepted the entire return and have provided no refund ($3000)). Rather I wanted to communicate to any potential future customer of Atkinson's to BEWARE. Their inventory is nice and the prices competitive, but if there are any issues, you will be at risk. For the level of product, it just doesn't make sense not to purchase elsewhere.
