Used Tristan at 3RM several times with mixed results. I hired him after we moved into our new home…read moreand the heater stopped working. I initially called the home warranty who sent a tech out of Eufala. That tech pronounced our heater dead saying it couldn't be fixed and we would have to spend $18k on a new system. We were panicked but decided to call Tristan. Tristan came out on a Friday and determined the gas valve was bad and it was a simple fix and the home warranty tech was trying to rip us off. We were very grateful. We were going in to a holiday weekend so he wasn't sure the parts supply place would be open but we'd talk the next day. Next day came and I hadn't heard anything from Tristan by 10am so I called to see if he was able to get the part. He answered the phone and just says "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" and hangs up on me. I'm now like WTH. After a few minutes he texts and says he told me he'd be at my place at 10...he never told me anything of the sort. So he arrived with the part and I'm not really happy how I was talked to but I let it go. He replaced the part and I again pay him more than he asked. A few weeks later the heater goes out again. Tristan comes out on Monday and determined the gas valve he had just replaced was bad and needed to be replaced again. He went to parts place and calls me and says they don't have the part and it will be Thursday before they do. Not ideal as outside temperature is like 5°f this week. I texted him asking if it would help if we went to Tulsa to get the part. Takes him forever to respond and when dose he sends me a snarky message that if the part was avaliable in Tulsa he would already gone to get it. Like I was supposed to know that. So Thursday comes and I hear nothing all morning. I don't call as this seems to annoy him in the past. Lunch comes and I texted " do you have any idea when Locke will have our part? " again slow to respond, when I do get a response it's simply "No". Not I will check with them, not I understand your anxious after four days of no central heat and you really need this fixed...nothing. Just "no". So I'm scared to even call Tristan with his attitude in previous calls so I do nothing. My wife on the other hand decides to just call the supply place and see for herself if the part came in. Turns out it had and they had notified Tristan 30 minutes earlier. I guess it would have killed him to call or send a text that just says "it's here". All we wanted was some communication on the status of our repair. That's it! So about 30 minutes later Tristan arrives at our house. I just kept working because I'm convinced by this time the guy can't stand me. He walks up to my wife, puts the part in her hands, and tells her to find someone else to perform our repair. Then he proceeds to chew her out for calling the parts place. Says "I'm a heating and air conditioning professional. " Professional...I would say anything but professional at this point. He leaves and we both plead with him not to do this but his anger and pride are now in the driver's seat. He's gone. The funny part is if he communicated with customers better she never would have needed to call. And look. I get it. To someone like Tristan these repairs are all very routine. But to the customer that hasn't had heat in their whole house in 4 days...it's a big deal. I think Tristan has lost the ability to see things through the eyes of his customer and I doubt that is going to serve him well. He hurt my wife, she's a combat veteran with ptsd and he single handedly put her into a panic attack. All because his ego was crushed due to her little phone call to check on a part when he wouldn't. And me? Well I have my own struggles with anxiety, something Tristan knows me well enough to know but none of that matters in his dealing with my wife and I. Total lack of empathy and it's sad. Can't in good conscience recommend 3rm now. There are plenty of other techs out there that value their customers. I suggest using one of them.

I then called Hot Shot Electric. A cool, professional guy named Justin came out, and fixed the issue faster than the Sparky's guy took just looking at things. (Justin also went above and beyond and spent a small amount of time by identifying that the Sparky's kid was lying about the breaker box and showed me why). He saved me somewhere between $7.8k to $24.8k (that I wasn't going to spend, for everyone's reference) amount of BS money by identifying the real problem and fixing it right away. He also offered options that I learned about previously from friends of the AL/Cu wire nut conversion, which they could do at a ball park of $2k. I highly recommend these guys in a world where you take your car in for a broken tail light and the mechanic says he's gonna have to rebuild your whole car to fix it.
