Robin was a former teacher and is knowledgeable about what skills the children need to develop to prepare for Kindergarten. This of course was a major selling point for me. Robin and her staff genuinely care for the children; you can tell in the way they interact with them and the way the children beam in their presence. Additionally Robin is constantly working to provide the children with the best preschool experience possible. During the holidays and changing of seasons Robin would decorate the school to add a festive flare. Other times she would purchase new toys. She even installed misters outdoors for those super-hot days. She is always thinking of ways to improve her school. ((Thank you for that)) My daughter attended Kids and Me for a little over year and enjoyed the program so much that she begged to stay! Unfortunately for her, it was time to transition into Kindergarten. Teacher Marlena, Teacher Hannah, and Teacher Pam were in charge of my daughters care; they were all very loving and kind to my daughter. We will miss the staff tremendously.

Then fire the happened and we ended up having to enroll her in a place fast, a week before school started. We went to Kids and Me first and immediately loved it. Robin (the owner) was so friendly and welcoming to us. I called her to schedule a tour and she was flexible and able to work around our schedule. We ended up showing up without giving her notice and she showed us around all the rooms. Everything was incredibly clean and well maintained. You can tell that they keep the place well looked after and that they are spending the time to make sure everything is safe for the kids. We looked at a few other places but did not get the same feeling as how we felt at Kids and Me. My daughter, like most kids, took time to adjust to the new environment and people but it was clear that she was well taken care of and looked after. I was told that she was having a hard time during lunches. Robin took it upon herself to help my daughter feel better by letting her eat lunch in her office. She allowed my daughter to sit and eat lunch with her until she was more comfortable. She went above and beyond to help make my daughter feel safe and loved. I have also been extremely impressed with how much learning they foster in the classrooms. My daughter seems to come home every day with either a new word or song. She is 2 and a half and can tell me her shapes, days of the week, and colors. She can count items up to 15 accurately. She is thriving in her classroom and doing so well. The teachers are working hard to come up with different ideas and ways to help the kids learn and grow. It feels so much like a school and not just some day care that your kid goes to while you are at work. Also, the teachers are always willing to take the time to talk to you at drop off and pick up. I can always ask them about her day and never feel like I get a scripted answer (like "It was good.") but rather a detailed explanation of her day. I usually pick her up with they are outside and I always see all the teachers playing with the kids and interacting with them. They don't just stand around waiting for the next kid to leave. Overall, I could not be happier with our choice to put our daughter here. They are so kind and caring to all the kids. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for an academically rich preschool where the kids are well cared for and loved.

My child was bullied more heavily at this school than at any other, yet my child seemed to be the…read moreonly one held accountable for their mistakes. I was so hopeful for this school because they seemed to cultivate a safe learning environment for children that are neuro divergent but this couldn't be further from the truth. My child's friend had attended a previous year and was withheld from recess as a punishment which is illegal, and my child told me they were withheld from PE and was given a failing grade for that class which seems pretty unfair. They did not work WITH me on my child's behavior issues, but instead just sent them away. I do everything I can at home for my child's issues, I cut out food dyes, have a very structured daily routine and I am consistent with consequences. They treated me like I was a bad parent and that I failed my child when in reality it seems that they failed us. They asked my child to leave (unofficial expulsion) because they had pushed another kid down for cutting in line which wasn't okay, but instead of giving them a behavioral plan, they just gave up on them. My child also told me that their teacher had often screamed "shut up" at the kids to silence them. Personally, I've had many teacher who were able to silence a class without even saying a word. Screaming "shut up" at kids is abusive and we don't even do that in our home. The teacher my child had often times compared students to her grown son which comes across as very in appropriate because you cannot compare children, they are all different and it can lead to really unhealthy standards and expectations. They refused to release my child's records to me despite a formal letter asking them to do so, which is illegal, and they will not give me their 504 plan so I have to start a new one for my child. This school is a facade and presents itself like it's so loving, nurturing and sweet but the teachers are verbally abusive and extremely biased and foster conflict among the children by showing obvious favoritism. I would not recommend this school to anyone who cares about their child's mental wellbeing. I am reporting this school to the California board of education for investigation. They need to be held accountable for their shady actions and negligent administration. Side note: all schools in California received a stipend to help provide food to low income families when food stamps were shut down for almost 2 months. Almost all the other schools in the district that I heard of loaded up each family with a trunk full of groceries, Monarch did not. They kept their stipend to themselves. Incredibly greedy if you ask me.

We enrolled our son in this daycare sometime in Sept. 2024 (he was 1.5 years old), in the beginning it all seemed really nice, the staff were friendly and seemed to care about the kids. All that changed when one of the staff in the toddler class got fired because of alleged rough handling of one of the kids. After that, they seemed to always be short staffed, we didn't know which class to drop off our son, one time we would leave him in the infants area, next with the 3-year old, it was the same situation when picking him up, we had to walk all over the place to see where our son is. Additionally it's worth mentioning that every single day my son would come home with dirty face and hands, with snot all over his face, and almost every other week he was sick to the point that we had to keep him home. In few occasions when they were outside, we noticed kids playing with muddy water that had leaked from the drinking water fountain and had their faces in it and the staff would not interfere or stop the kids. we were fortunate to be on a waiting list for another daycare and my son's turn came up to get enrolled, but toward the last 2, 3 months in this daycare he didn't want to go, he was always upset during drop off and when picking him up, he would look upset until he would see us. All this, I do want to mention that I believe it is the management that is not good, the staff are most likely overworked and underpaid. If you care about your child's safety and health and if you have the means to not enroll him in this daycare, I would definitely suggest to stay away.

I enrolled my severely autistic, nonverbal son into this school worried about how he'd be treated,…read moreand unfortunately, my worst fears came true. For years, we endured an unsafe and hostile environment, not just for him, but for me as a parent advocating for his rights. On my son's very first day, I witnessed a special needs student punch another, and instead of stepping in to de-escalate, the teacher simply placed the child back in line right next to the student he hit. It was a red flag, especially for a school with vulnerable children who may not be able to speak up. My son is one of them. Despite repeated requests and documented concerns including eloping from class, self-injurious behavior like him banging his head on the floor and walls or him smashing his toes against the ground until they bleed as well as an inability to understand dangers like traffic, bodies of water etc. the school denied him a one-on-one aide. This was a direct violation of his right to FAPE. The school even told me that a 1:1 wouldn't even help my special needs child.. Something no special needs parent who understands the concept and benefits of their child having a one on one paraprofessional during school hours would accept. After raising these concerns over many occasions I began experiencing retaliation. Staff began targeting me including glaring at me in in a hateful manner during IEP meetings, forcing me to resort to IEP meetings over the phone out of discomfort of staff intentionally trying to intimidate me, pulling up beside me in their car making inappropriate gestures to me in front of my children, refusing to allow me on school campus at pick up time out of spite while allowing others in and gossiping about me to other staff right in front of my face. When I confronted them or reported the behavior to the principal, nothing changed. The same staff remain employed there to this day despite multiple reports being made involving the same employees. Also, in kindergarten, my child with special needs who is also non-verbal began coming home with frequent unexplained bruises that would at times cover his entire body. His whole demeanor was changing. I documented all the bruising as well as his new behaviors. When I came to them with my concerns, the school responded by calling CPS on me rather than investigating what was happening on their watch. In 2023 a teachers aide witnessed on multiple occasions my son's (at the time) teacher Tyler Lee, putting his hands on the special needs children as well as being emotionally and verbally abusive towards them. The teachers aide felt it was necessary to inform a parent of one of the children affected by the teachers actions regardless of "school policy". When the cops were called the school said that they would "handle it internally". The teacher aid who told on the abusive teacher ended up having to leave the school and the teacher who was abusing the children was never arrested. The parents of children in that classroom were never properly informed of the abuse and was given a letter saying that the kids will be getting a new teacher. We only learned of the athis through the News Channel 7 article that can still be found on Google search (Former staff member says they witnessed abuse at Meadow Lane Elementary). I hope others read this and think twice before sending their special needs child to Meadow Lane.
