I scheduled an appt to interview and review the services of this firm. I met with an associate, not the principal. I was instructed what to bring to the meeting and the associate was the only one in the office and needed to answer phones, greet people, etc., which was fine. The meeting was running what I considered to be long and I reminded the associate that this was an interview and I had other firms to speak with yet. The meeting continued...after two hours I was billed $100! I was so shocked, I paid and left. The following week I wrote a letter to the principal requesting a refund and explained that the other firms I'd interviewed did not charge and there was no mention of the meeting being billable when I scheduled. No response. Another letter was sent, again, requesting a refund and my documents, which they had kept. The documents were returned with no letter, no phone call to discuss the issue. Nothing. I was deeply disappointed at the business protocol...or lack there of. I went elsewhere. Beware. Conducting business in such an unprofessional manner does not lend credence to their ethics in dealing with taxes. read more
