The Death by Carribean Chocolate Cake is what I had and it lived up to it's namesake perfectly. An Imperial Double Milk Stout is what we had some of and we simply loved it! The ABV is a bit high and just over 10 so we knew how to handle this one and get a small pour. Flavor features besides certainly tasting like German Chocolate Cake is Cocoa, spiced and woody. The beer is definitely rich and full bodied so a little bit goes a long ways but it does taste glorious!

Pies are freshly made and rotate, dots on the menu signify which pies are available each day. I had been drinking Camden Hells Lager since I've been in the UK, so when we saw the Camden Town Brewery, we decided to stop and get a bit to eat. It is in a great spot, right on the Camden Locks, in the heart of the Camden Market. It isn't much to look at once you walk in, pretty standard. Same goes for the cocktail offering. The cocktails on their cocktail menu mostly contained Beefeater Gin, but they were out of Beefeater Gin and said they couldn't substitute for one of the other Gins they had in the wall, which was quite a few, so that was disappointing. We were a little worried there wasn't a kids menu but we got the Cotswold fried chicken, without hot sauce and it was incredible. My wife and I shared the fish and chips and it was very good as well. We were a little underwhelmed when we walked in but were very satisfied and pleased with the food. We would comeback for the ambiance but definitely would for the food.

The beer here is different because the water has a mineral content not found anywhere else in Britain, yet, anyway. They seem to be constantly experimenting, which is what my American palate loves. They make seasonal brews and a different beer every month. I tasted one of their beers at the Coach the night before so I figured I had to visit the next day. You are allowed up to two pints to taste free. Wow. I think that is generous but perhaps it is common in the U.K. In any case, I only had about a pint total, and tasted three beers. The Rebellion Lager, Rebellion IPA, (these two I think are the basic beers which are brewed all year) and the Virtuoso. The Virtuoso is an amber ale brewed in November. All were great. If you join their club, everything is discounted and you get to attend club events. The store where you taste is full of not just their beer but also random wines from around the world which they will select and offer by the mixed case. Great holiday gift idea! I walked two miles to visit the brewery and it was worth it.
