I used to walk from campus to my then-apartment (which was a kilometer away) and pass by Micha's. The first thing that lured me in was the smell of cookies every afternoon. I think it awakened the cookie monster in me. I swear on Hitler's mustache, their chocolate chip cookies are divine. They're the perfect combination of chewy and crispy, of buttery and chocolatey, of cute and sexy.. Wait what? Point is, they set the bar way too high, so make sure you're ready for these life-changing cookies. Despite the lack of a comfortable dine-in space and AC, students flock to Micha's around three o'clock every weekday afternoon for a slice or two of their uber cheesy baked macaroni. At forty pesos per slice, it's a real bang for your buck, too.

However, what I am not a fan of is the price, though. But, if you're looking at getting the same satisfaction without the disappointment of budget concerns, Micha's down at LB is definitely a good place to go. What to try? Well, how about we start off with chocolate chip, dark chocolate or chocolate crinkles being sold at 35 pesos per 100 grams? Or how about their crazy ,scrumptious servings of baked mac that you'll even eat right out of the foil? Or how about some eclairs or cream puffs without costing you an entire dollar? All of that, you'll get here. So hop on to LB as this little store's waiting for you!

Apart from their most popular offering, the girls behind TCS also craft cakes for any celebration be it a wedding, birthday party, anniversary, or what have you. The city-famous Rainbow Cake is made of the moistest butter cake and complemented with rich lemon cream cheese butter cream between every layer. But that's not it -- it's topped with whipped cream as well. The moment that I laid eyes on it at a friend's birthday party, I knew I had to try it. And I'm so glad I put in an order because it was heart-stopping. It was plain to see that there's no scrimping or cheap ingredients used by the creators. Just a whole lot of heart and goodness.
BEST DESSERTS!!!…read more It's been 4 months since we last visited the Philippines and El Hubby and I are still talking about Conti's HALO-HALO and MANGO BRAVA CAKE. Their halo-halo was classic with the ube ice cream and flan on top and had enough beans and jelly on the bottom. It's crunchy, cold and so delicious. The Mango Brava Cake was memorable. It's a frozen cake with layers of cashew meringue wafers, chocolate mousse, cream and real mango chunks. It's sooo good! Besides dessert, they also serve Filipino, American and Italian food. I had LENGUA ESTOFADO and El Hubby had MUSSELS and MUSHROOM PASTA and they were all delish. Keep in mind that their portions are on the smaller side but you will still leave satisfied. I really miss Conti's. Wished we could've dined more than once.

That is the main reason why they are still in the business for almost 13 years. Just present your design and Cakes R Us will build your cake just the way you want it. I discovered this place when I was trying to look for a present that would surprise my shoe-obsessed friend. I thought that a huge pink-colored cake with a giant pair of stilettos on top would be the perfect gift for her. Not only did the cake look wonderful, the taste was also heavenly. Cakes R Us offers a variety of cake designs for different life celebrations. You can choose between a flat-cake design or a 3D design with a caricature or an object on top. They also have a lot of cake flavors to choose from such as chocolate, banana, strawberry, carrot, and even buko pandan.

It's not surprising for me to come home to find sansrival in a refrigerator with a slice set aside just for me. After coming home one night from my internship I saw a small box that our maid told me was for me. Curious as to what it might be I opened the box to see a small round sansrival cake. Having had a lot of these cakes means that I can usually determine whether it's something special or something ordinary. Crumbs Caker Art has a so so sansrival in my own humble opinion. Sure it's sweet enough, but something is missing that would make it stand out from every other sansrival I've ever had. Not sure about the price, but considering the taste I'd say it's most likely worth the asking price.

Almira's Buko tart, simply has the amazing and delectable coconut tarts for me. Although the name says buko tart, they bake several luscious tarts such as Mango Cheese Tart, Banana Caramel Tart, Blueberry Cheese Tart, Cherry Cheese Tart , and my personal favorite; Fruity Tart . It's tangy and sweet and just sensational. Also available are the usual Pinoy delicacies such as Nilupak, barquillos, otap, and so much more. This location uses some third party WIFI provider for its internet service. It wants your cell phone number to send you a text message for an accescode. The WIFI is free, if you can access it, but as stated above, you must be able to get a text message to complete the log in process. We have USA phone numbers and it never worked for us. My wife and I tried several times to log in and never got our codes sent to us. Fortunately we were able to use my wife's brother's local number to gain access, only after messaging back and forth to get the code. What a mess! Many people may come here for the view, but it is overrated. It's nice when you order, but downstairs and on the patio you don't really see the much. You are better off to walk around back and see the view from the walkway and save a few dollars/pesos.

Halo Halo is a traditional Filipino snack/dessert we grew up with cooking us down from the heat of our motherland, the Philippine Islands. It's the Filipino version of America's ice cream treat and a more sophisticated hawaiian shaved ice concocted with evaporated or condensed milk, sweetened beans, leche flan, crunchy flattened dried rice (pinipig) to give it that crunch and Filipino flavored ice cream. Ben's came highly recommended by my dad and his girlfriend who was taken here by my dad's friend escaping a funeral in the hottest part of the summer. This place lived up to the hype! It is air conditioned, very clean and inviting. They have different types of halo halo to choose from varying from Ben's original traditional famous halo halo to spicy with their Spicy Winter Halo Halo, corn (mais Con Yelo), Macapuno (Sweet Coconut Strands) and even a unique take on sweet and salty with their salted egg version of Salty Summer. For an average of about $2 each, these icy treats are a must find here in the town of Silang. Ben's is located in the heart of Silang Town Proper about a block down the main big Catholic church of Candelaria. Management has a sign up protecting their employees from customer abuse which made me very good inside for the level of care the owners exercise in protecting and caring for their employees. My sister ordered their cucumber water which we found to be extremely sweet. We self served ourselves with water from their self serve water station and poured half of the cucumber water in a glass and poured regular water in it to dilute the sweetness to taste. It was very good once we added more water. The mango juice I ordered came from a can and the brand they have on hand is quite delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed my Spicy Winter Halo Halo. The heat from the hot Thai chili peppers compliments the sweetness of the halo halo which is literally translated as "mix mix". There are other halo halo joints around Silang but at first taste, this became an instant favorite. The ice is very fine, not crunchy and it reminded me of Japanese Kakigori which is crushed fine ice. I highly recommend stopping by and fulfilling your halo halo urge here!
