I was overcharged 1.5 hours labour when the engineer wasn't on site. Also, they don't bring the materials required for the job, I believe a tactical ploy to extend job duration and increase job cost. I will look elsewhere next time!! Job involved adding a 1 meter plastic pipe from stop tap into the kitchen, 5 hours charged in labour, disgraceful. Company director (Paul Masters) refused partial refund and clearly isn't aware of consumers rights. Unfortunately I was forced to pay after engineer finished (engineer wouldn't leave until paid), only was it on the invoice breakdown via email did I noticed the charges when the engineer was off on a jolly!!

However when my…read moreboiler needed relocating I had little choice - the plumber I have used and trusted for many years had just retired. From the moment I met James I was reassured - he was knowledgeable, helpful and offered alternative solutions for what I was trying to achieve with necessary pros and cons. Due to the competitive quote, in addition to the professional approach, I asked James to do the job. The work was done within the agreed timescale and I was amazed at how neat it was and how little mess they made. I can thoroughly recommend JR PLumbing and Heating and would not hesitate to use them again.

They were quick to respond to our initial boiler problem and when it became apparent that we needed to have a new boiler fitted they were able to move very quickly - we only had 2 nights without heating or hot water which I thought was a very good turnaround time. I didn't feel that the cost was unreasonable either despite our desperate circumstances (ie not heating or hot water). We will use them again for on-going boiler servicing and maintenance.

My boiler was serviced by one of this company's engineers at 10 a.m. on 20 August…read more When I asked for the analysis paper I was told most people didn't worry about that. Then upon my insistence the engineer told me he had run out of paper. After more time had gone by the engineer undid everything once more and then eventually produced the paper I had asked for. All this cost me 70 pounds and my precious time. Almost right away after the service the dial showing the water content was erratic and looked dangerous to me because during a couple of hours it went from 'too full beyond 3' to almost empty ( on 0 ) on a daily basis. I called the company several times and was told it was not an emergency and to ring back once the boiler ( 3 years old Worcester Junior 28 ) had stopped. It turned out that I had to pay 40 pounds for an opinion from another engineer ( who was not from Gas World ) about what was actually wrong and another 280 pounds to put in a new expansion vessel which was punctured. That work was done by an accredited engineer from Worcester.- To be told to call back once the boiler had stopped seemed to me the height of indifference. Never again will I call on this company for anything.
