The cabins range from small (2 people) to large (12 people), and are scattered among the trees in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains. Friendly Pines is just off the highway, but with the trees, you can't hear or see it. You cannot get much closer to Beaver's Bend State Park (without actually staying in the park). A short drive down a gravel trail, turn right and drive about 500 meters, then turn into the park and the marina and beach are right in front of you. Friendly Pines is also within a half-mile of Abendigo's (good food), Greatful Head (pizza and beer), and Girls Gone Wine (winery, obvioulsy), so there's plenty to do if you get cabin feaver.

It was very clean and comfortable. We didn't have any other guests at the other cabins on this property, so we enjoyed some secluded time away from people. Lots of shade and a picnic table and fire pit area to enjoy along with a grill to use. Lynn drove past us, one of the owners, and we had a great visit with him, and he showed us the other cabin on site that isn't a tiny house. It is very nice, we are looking forward to staying there next time. This place is outside of town and away from a lot of the other cabins, so there is not a lot of traffic. We found a dirt road that took us to the Beavers Bend train depot that was a little scary, but it worked.

I arrived to check into my prepaid reservation 6/7, only to be informed that the hotel had given my room away to another guest. I had to call a number on the door since there was not an employee on site. This person lied about my calling, even though, my call log proves otherwise, calling four times until it was answered on the fourth attempt. When contacting the property on 6/15, Jordan at the front desk offered zero customer service then proceeded to HANG UP on me. In the proceeding conversations, she lied three times about this situation. Refused to escalate this to the supervisor nor provide me with their email address. Attempting to resolve this with their billing and management team has been an exercise in frustration. Retaining payment for services rendered is standard business; charging a customer for a room you actively gave away to someone else is, frankly, fraudulent. If you value consumer rights, reliable reservations, and ethical billing practices, I strongly advise booking elsewhere.

Without any additional fees or issue, he put us up in a comparable cabin which was incredibly clean and ready to go! Also, he let us cancel the next weekend's booking without any fees or issue too. Plus - checking out has never been easier. Short of having to do the dishes, they didn't require us to do anything else.
