I flew in and out of the Red Deer regional airport for the first time recently and it was overall a good experience. It was great to be able to fly an " Air Canada " flight straight to there (the Red Deer - Calgary AC flights are operated by Air Georgian). The airport staff were super friendly and helpful. A true testament to the quirkiness of small airports- you have to bring your checked bag through security with you like you normally would for a carry-on bag. I hope that the Air Canada service continues and it prompts an airport renovation. The reason I feel I can't score the airport higher is that it really is so minimal. There's nowhere nearby to get food- just two vending machines. There's barely enough places for people to sit, let alone any services. I sincerely hope that I can keep returning to this airport, and see some capital improvements that help me to rate it higher! read more
