Exiting from the station was equally easy & safe. We grabbed some water at a good price and some crunchy snacks to keep us awake. There were some local-ish options available, which is nice to see as the small businesses can use the support. Some prices were excellent, while other a bit steep- overall, it seemed to balance out in the end.

HOWEVER, you kept the most important part of any car wash. Simonson's has a HUMAN spraying bug/tar remover on the vehicle, then uses a pressure washer to COMPLETELY PRE-WASH the entire car before it enters the automated car wash. The extra time to pre-wash each car takes only 45 seconds, and is 100% the reason I dropped my membership at Tommy's. The pre-wash by a real person means all the removable dust, dirt and bugs are washed away and don't get stuck in the rotating mops and scratch the hell out of the poor soul's car next in line. A simple rinse won't do, you need a brain and eyes and a pressure washer to clean all bugs and loose dirt from the vehicle. I loved the convenience of Tommy's carwash, but now my car is covered with micro-scratches all over from the dirty mops. You can't get away from all scratches in a "touch style" carwash, but having a pre wash attendant is how to do it, and what makes Simonson's carwash truly the next best to doing it in my driveway (which I can't do in winter!) The extra 45 seconds is well worth it. My cars paint thanks you!! The first set of rotating mops in the wash always look bright and obviously clean, not dark and full of dirt like the aforementioned competition. Only thing missing is a floor mat cleaning station and vacuums. Tommy's has that advantage. But I prefer saving my cars 3-stage paint! Thank you Simonson's, I know it's hard to pay an attendant to pre-wash, but it is 75% the reason my monthly subscription is yours and justifies the expense of your washes.

Sometimes I have concerns with this because my car is a manual and I don't like my seat moved. Neither of these were an issue. Lots of attention to detail too. I parked my truck in one of the bays while it was raining to save the honey boxes I was hauling from the weather while I walked a block to get a pizza. I didn't see anyone there to speak to before I left. Lonnie was nice enough to call the cops and a tow truck on me while I was gone. The tow truck couldn't pull my truck, so it was still there when I got back. Lonnie was pretty upset when I returned. He pointed to the handful of bees that came after the honey and that the hourly rate to park was $25. I paid the $25 in cash and left. The high pressure soap is so low pressure at best. Won't take bugs off the front of the vehicle let…read morealone anything beyond a thin layer of dirt. Okay, I use the soap brush to scrub the truck. Got more of the dirt off but not down to the paint. Didn't realize that till I started to rinse the truck. Yes the bug bodies were now gone, bug guts were everywhere. Now I have to grab out a rag from my truck and proceed to hand wash the dirt off the truck and scrub the bugs off while rinsing it. I gave two starts as the place was clean and maintained but way too much work to get anything higher. If I wanted to hand wash my truck, I'd stay home with a bucket and scrub the truck there.
