The store is clean, the displays are good, and the fridges/freezers stocked well. Products are labeled and priced clearly. The store and cash is set up to allow flow and movement of customers. (Even though only 3 people are allowed in at a time, one woman barged in front of me in line to be served. But hey, that''s Victoria. I do hope the staff can stay alert and tell who is really next in line.. but I'll let that one go today.) The staff are always friendly, knowledgeable about cuts and cooking tips and have good manners which is a true bonus these days. A couple times I have called my order in and picked it up later. The orders were correctly done and priced, and I've been happy with every product I've tried. I have to admit I've decreased my consumption of meat in last 2 yrs. But, I feel better supporting local venues (not bulk stores) and local farmers. They have more than meat too - the mixed olives are fantastic.

I ordered 8 lbs of beef short ribs a day in advance and relayed they will be smoked on a Kamado Joe…read moreBBQ. I specifically stated that the ribs be large (Texas style). The next day I was excited to purchase my order. I paid $122.76, which is a higher than average price, considering I don't mind paying a bit extra for animals that are naturally raised with 'no antibiotics or hormones, free range, pastured and fed a biologically appropriate diet', and, we certainly support our local community. The following day, my husband was quite excited to season the ribs. Upon opening the package, we found the ribs to be extremely fatty and silver skin still on them. The ribs were also cut individually instead of two slabs of four ribs. What? Staff working at Farm & Field Butchers should be professional and extremely well-versed in the cuts of meat and what should or should not come off, as well as adhering to customers' requests. I have purchased previous cuts of meat from them - e.g. Rib Eye Steaks - which were also extremely fatty. Their cuts of meat are just loaded with fat, and, you are actually paying 30% of the total on simply 'fat'. Save your money people. Please go anywhere else but here... You will be disappointed, as we have been on several occasions. We are steering clear of this business in future. Tired of being disappointed and paying top dollar for mediocre product full of fat.
