I am a type A helicopter mom and have been so impressed how this daycare has cared for my infant. They provide a daily report so I know exactly how much he ate and slept and tummy time etc. I call every day and check on my son and they are always so kind about it. This is my second child and I have been to many daycares and although this one does not have all the bells and whistles in terms of a huge fancy facility. They are truly a hidden gem. I highly recommend.

She was talking on the phone, so I presume the door overwhelmed her because she displayed absolutely nothing but chaos. She asked me the age of my child, I told her. She gave me a note pad to fill out contact information. She told me that the school sends a bus there, they don't transport to that particular school... which is fine. After that she excused herself and went to the restroom. When she returned she told me they only have 46 slots with 52 kids already... I guess they don't go by ratio. I looked at her and smiled, that's what I do when I'm annoyed but want to be kind. I asked why I didn't receive a call because I took off work for the tour. Again in an overwhelmed state she says "I am the only one here today, the online scheduler just sends things in, I've been very busy today." As though her busy was superior to my time and responsibilities. After all, that's the job. I calmly told her, still smiling, I also work and am very busy, in addition to having a disabled child getting ready for brain surgery and touring schools... but I still can manage to RSVP regret. She ask, "if you'd like I can give you a tour and when"... I told her no, no thanks. As I was walking out I summed it up to a blessing for seeing what it would have been like there. The first impression did not display positive control. They must be one of the more affordable daycares around because I was not interested after that.

From day one, Cadence Academy has given us complete peace of mind and exceeded every expectation we had. The teachers and directors are truly exceptional. They are caring, attentive, and genuinely invested in every child's growth, happiness, and well-being. It is evident that they love what they do, and that passion shines through in the way they interact with the children and families. Our son absolutely loves going to daycare each day, which speaks volumes. We love hearing about all the activities, learning experiences, and special moments he enjoys. Cadence Academy consistently goes above and beyond by organizing fun events, creative activities, and engaging opportunities for the children throughout the month. What stands out most is the genuine care they show for every child. The staff creates a warm, welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and loved. Knowing our son is in such great hands makes all the difference. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Cadence Academy. If we are fortunate enough to have more children in the future, there is no question where they will go. We would choose Cadence Academy again without hesitation. Thank you for making such a positive impact on our family and for providing an amazing place for children to learn, grow, and thrive! Highly recommended to any parent looking for outstanding childcare!

I recently switched my oldest to a private school that also has a child care center. So of course, for convenience, I enrolled the 2 y/o. From day 1, my gut told me to move her back but being a social worker, I told myself, "just give it a chance." Was it terrible two's, was it the change in general, was it the center...? I continued to question the move, until it slapped us in the face!! I won't go into details but, my little one is back at GKA and it was...again, the best decision!!! She is so much happier. I get photo updates in real time on their app, potty training has continued, & she is excited to go back each day! I can go on! I highly recommend Growing Kids Academy!! And I just love Ms. Brittany and her staff! They always welcome my girls back with open arms.

It took me a few years to write this review. My son went to FBC early learning center. The first…read moreyear when his teacher was a pastor wife - it was fine. Next year, Mrs. Verna started to literally harass my child - stuff like forcing him to carry a 8 pound back back (third if his weight), instead of using napkins to clean up his nose - swallow mucus (it's gross!) and other things like that. One day they call me in the morning to pick up my son because he is uncontrollably crying. I came to pick him up, they said he refused to go to the playground. He was at Mrs. Verna office on the floor uncontrollably crying. At home he said that Mrs. Verna dragged him to his office and told him he is crazy. He had a couple bruises. We asked the pastor to investigate what happened as they have cameras but he refused. He said that Mrs. Verna never does anything wrong. Instead the next day when my husband took him to school - they de-enrolled him without letting us know. They asked off duty police officer to escort my 3 y.o. out of school. We involved CPS but of course they could not find anything. We moved to another school and in the past three years we never had a problem there. I have never seen my son crying non stop for an hour, not before and not after this incident. To this day I don't know what happened there. I feel guilty I couldn't protect my son. The thing I know - Baptist Church don't care about you or your child. We met two more students/parents who went here and they had similar stories. And I question: why after so many years of existence there are no reviews good or bad for this school?

I don't like to write negative things about a church as they are doing God's work & they are almost…read moreall a positive place. However, there is a "right" church for most people & this one is not it for my family. So I'm writing a review just to let others know why in case they may have the same concerns/issues. We went here for a while a few yrs. back (3-4yrs) and really enjoyed it. The sermons are great & they have lots of activities & things for children. It is a very involved church & you can truly immerse yourself. If we got there on time seating was never an issue & I always got a lot out of the sermons. The music is contemporary & very upbeat. The people are friendly. Then it started getting more & more crowded. I have been "church shopping" for my family for about 6 yrs. now, since we moved to northern Va from Fredericksburg. Still haven't found a church like the smaller, family oriented, personal & very real church I left. So I decided to check out a couple others in the area. About a yr. later we came back to 1st baptist a few times. Holy moly. The population had exploded!! I don't know what they did but it was so crowded you couldn't get a seat unless you got there super early. Even when getting there early I'd go in the sanctuary & people had left their bible, jackets, etc. on seats to save their seat so we still couldn't get one. We would stand in the back, hanging around feeling stupid. The ushers pretty much ignored us. We then would go out into the lobby & sit at a table & watch on the TV out there. This happened 2 Sundays in a row. Many people, including those who worked at the church, passed by & no one even spoke to us. Boy did we feel out of place. Awkward! So that was it for me. Too many other churches to fight for seating & feel invisible. Really impersonal. I felt like I could go there for 2 yrs. and no one would know who I was. So, my search continues...... Again, on a positive note, the sermons are great & my kids loved childrens church there. The childrens church teachers are great. They are the only ones who remembered us. I think too many of these mega churches in the area focus so much on growth & missions that they miss the regular people & those who are searching & may be in need. I have seen in it many, many churches in Woodbridge. So I will look for a smaller church, where perhaps they'll remember my face, or actually call me/email me when I put in a prayer request.

If you want to help your child with a learning disability do better in school, don't go to these people as they are not trained to help children with learning disabilities. My reasosns are they try to use rote memorization techniques and standard teaching techniques to teach every child, which don't work with kids with learning disabilities. I was going to just let it go since they did offer me some accomodations to get my son's testing done and were trying to offer me a discount to start tutoring and I appreciated that but then Susie K. tried to shame me and make me out to be a bad parent that didn't care about my son's education. It started off bad and just never improved. They tried to have my son who has ADHD do too much in one sitting (an hour for a pretest without any breaks) so we had trouble even getting the pretesting done because my son was frustrated and in tears from too much pushing him to do the test! This showed me they had no idea about learning disabilities or IEP modifications so I stopped going to them and wasn't going to give them a bad review but then I got an insulting email from Susie K. I sent an email to request they stop emailing me since I had asked them to do this a few times already. In response, she tried to shame me as not caring about my child or education because I simply requested she no longer email me about their services. She has never once tried to find out why I no longer wanted to know about or use their tutoring services, she just sends an insulting email because I got tired of her not listening to my requests to not email me anymore. I had to threaten to contact the Better Business Bureau to get her to stop and in retaliation she sent a nasty email back that said that she didn't want to bother parents who didn't care about their children or education! Her insulting and unfounded accusation is why I am now writing this review! IAs a trained and successful teacher with 15 years experience teaching Social Studies and Elementary Science, I think I might know a thing or two about teaching and serving the public. Having taught that long, I know how to administer IEP accommodations, recognize signs of learning problems, and how to help kids do well as long as they know how to read the basics but I did not know how to teach my son how to overcome his learning disabilities to learn to read because I am not a reading teacher or Special Education teacher. I came to them with tears and a desire to help my son but didn't get the help he needed so I took another avenue and she doesn't like that. After the first disasterous testing session, I talked to some excellent Special Education teachers who told me the centers' approach was all wrong for his learing disabilities so I cancelled any tutoring they had scheduled, despite pressure from Susie K. in several calls for them to continue the test and tutoring, and never went back. From my experience with Susie K., all I can say is she is all about making money, not doing what helps the child.
