My double oven went out, so I bought a new single oven that was a lot smaller than the space I had for my double oven. Since I have a small kitchen and storage is desperately needed I reached out to have an estimate done to build a full depth cabinet above the new oven plus the cabinet restructure to hold the new oven. It took a while for them to come in and do the work, but I understand that things happen so that part did not bother me. The estimated cost came out to be a little less than $1400. As things go with an old house there is always surprises. The original shelves were tucked in behind the old double oven that are semi attached to the existing shelves. Once I saw this I knew that I would no longer be getting the 20 inch depth cabinets that I had originally hoped for but would be getting now the pre-existing 10 inch depth. Yes I'm OK with that, and yes it looks good. I am disappointed that I didn't get the cabinet depth that was a part of the scope of work. Did I pitch a bitch or did I get upset, no I understand an old house things will happen. The work was not $1400, yes they did take $100 off. So I guess the moral of the story is pitch a bitch fit or people take advantage of you. read more
