I went in at 1:30 pm, was given x-rays and nitrous, and Dr. Hansen noticed I was clearly anxious about the procedure. He told me to let him know if I experienced any pain, and after half an hour, I had a new artificial root. He also advised me, to the detriment of his pocket book, that the second implant I wanted wasn't necessary for my long-term oral health. Later that night, Dr. Hansen called my cell to check up on me. Yes, sometimes the nurses are sometimes curt, but the competency of Dr. Hansen surpasses any expectations I have of a medical professional. Everybody hates the dentist, surgery, and waiting in an office, but if I have someone in charge of my care, I'd rather have someone like him.

The extraction and implant went very well, and I was very happy with the care I received from him. Unfortunately, my experience with the office staff was very different. I was understandably nervous and had several questions about the procedure, insurance estimate, paperwork and follow-up scheduling. I frequently felt rushed or as though my questions were an inconvenience rather than something they were willing to explain. My dentist made this appointment for me, and the only information I received beforehand was an automated text. I wasn't given a link to complete paperwork online, yet when I completed it at the office I was told that I could have done it online. I wouldn't have known where to find it. I was also concerned about the consent process. I signed several items electronically and asked for a copy of what I had signed. I was shown a laminated consent form that did not appear to contain all of the same wording I had just seen electronically, and when I asked for a copy of the electronic version, I was told that it was electronic and therefore they couldn't give me a copy. I intend to request it through the office in writing. Overall, I would absolutely recommend the surgeon based on my experience with him. I just wish the rest of the patient experience had reflected the same level of patience and communication, particularly with someone who was clearly nervous about having oral surgery.

My fear of dentists is so pathological that I warn those who will be working on me about my phobia. The folks here at Family Dental Care have been very compassionate. They offer an anti-anxiety med to take, prior to coming to the appointment. The people at the front office are organized and just as kind as the dentists. I love the choice of music played while you wait for your appointment as it is very calming and assuring. The prices are reasonable and they offer slight discounts for cash and if you don't have dental insurance. I also greatly appreciate that they don't try to upsell or convince you to do dental work that isn't necessary.

Thank God I was very stubborn and never got the work done cause the pain went away. I had pain in March and that is when she told me to yank the tooth the second time. I did not and it started hurting again in June and I went to a new Dentist to see what they thought. They sent me to a specialist cause they did not believe it needed to be taken out. Long story short I had a full cleaning done on my mouth and started flossing daily, and now my gums and teeth are fully fine. BAGLEY you are terrible. You really should not be anyone's dentist. No thought just wants you to pull teeth. They work for the Govt. for sure.
