This particular time we had 2 guides as one was training so it was fun to always have someone to ask questions when the other one is talking to others. Our group was small, there was one other couple from Italy but we all had the same goal. Having a great time and eating and learning history! Our guide was so energetic and showed her complete passion for the city. She was highly respected at each stop we made and everything on each stop worked like clockwork! We learned so much about the city's deep history and she took the time to sit with us and show us a map as she explained everything. I cannot even begin to talk about the bites we had including a wine tasting stop. Everything was special in its own way to the town and I don't want to ruin it by mentioning each place. Take this tour to get your bearings right when you arrive and you won't be disappointed. We did go back to a couple places and she had excellent additional suggestions for us during our trip which were all stellar! We loved this company so much we also took one of their cooking classes. She's a young, energetic and exceptionally knowledgeable sommelier (soon to be) who gave us a wonderful education on local wines and winemaking as well as introducing us to some great local vintners and a lunch (we took a morning tour) at a truly spectacular local restaurant (included). Unlike what I've experienced in California, on the Pagus tour you are the only ones at the wineries and you get the full attention of the vintners, yet with very little sales pressure. When we visited - Christmas 2017 - the dollar was almost even with the Euro and the wine prices, were amazing. You can buy right there or ship home if you like... or both. BTW, I'm just a middle income guy, so for the well-heeled I'm guessing it's an even bigger bargain. The vintners put out a spread of local fare to go with the wines, such as bread, meats, cheese and chocolate. Yumm. I can't imagine how the tastings and tour could have been more enjoyable. I highly recommend it and that you request Sofia if at all possible. Oh goodness... I almost forgot, the wines are AMAZING. If you love a good Amarone, Ripasso or Valpolicella - don't skip this one!

Rachel and Mario are the owners and she took us on a day-long fun and informative excursion that included sights, history, art, food, and wine. She is from the US originally and speaks flawless Italian and English. Che ck them out if you are in the Venice or Padua area either for a extended stay or as part of a shore excursion from Venice. We were on a Celebrity cruise and they picked us up at the dock for a wonderful day!

Such a fun day exploring the foods of Bologna! First we were picked up promptly, first thing in…read morethe morning (the sun hadn't come up yet) at our hotel in a passenger van, and drove to the first experience which was the cheese factory/farm. We actually got to see how the whole processing of making Parmigiano Reggiano,from start to finish, which was very enlightening. I have to say their Ricotta cheese is the best I have tasted from all over the world. Next we drove to a family owned DOP balsamic vinegar vineyard where we were able to see the process of making balsamic vinegar. Did you know it takes years and years to make just a small amount of vinegar. Very fascinating to hear and to taste. We got to compare balsamic venegar that isn't DOP and some that is. We were also able to taste the 25 year old, and 50 year old vinegar. This is tightly guarded as it is quite an arduous process, and very, very, time consuming just to get a few bottles out of the 25 and 50+ vinegar. Let's just say it's yummy. Make sure you buy a bottle while you are there. I didn't, and I could kick myself as it's more expensive is the USA from the same vineyard. Then it was off to the place where the prosciutto di Modena is made. That was interesting as well all these ham hocks hanging up, and the process of how the most tasty prosciutto is made. Final stop was to have lunch at a cantina on a sprawling estate. Great views. Did I say FOOD, lots, and lots of Italian food and wine. Very tasty and a good variety of Italian dishes. Then off to our hotel we go. We had our driver drop us off closer to city center so that we could enjoy the city before heading back to our hotel since this was or last night in Italy. She was very happy to oblige us. Such a fun day. I highly recommend this tour.

Not only did we get to taste the finished product, the process that goes into making them was very interesting. Alessandro, our tour guide, was excellent at explaining all the steps for each. We had a lovely breakfast after the Parmegiano Reggiano tour. After touring the Prosciutto company, we had a lovely five course meal including wine. I highly recommend Italian Days.

They welcomed us (6 persons) to their winery with no reservation, offered hefty tastings of 4 wines (1 Spumante, 2 reds, 1 white), served a platter of freshly baked focaccia (best I've ever/will have) and local meats, and chatted with us for hours. Looking forward to drinking these wines when we arrive home! This location is also available for rent, for those wanting the full experience and a great launch pad while visiting the area.
