The shop is located upstairs, on Port Moody's high street. The shop is very clean and the staff very professional. After signing a waver form we got to choose which flat back studs we wanted. You get a basic stud with the appointment, for a few bucks more you can get some other. One of the rules is that you're allowed to have 1 person in the room with you (for support if you need it), due to the size of the room. Everything was new and sterile. Libby was great in letting us know what to expect and what we would be feeling. My niece who was pretty nervous didn't even feel the first piercing. After both ears were done, she came out saying she barely felt it. I'm so proud of her! My helix looks great! So happy we had gone here. After all was done and paid, Libby had given us information for the proper and healing of our piercings. What to expect and what not to do, super informative. Something I wish I had known the first time I got my helix pierced. It is a CASH ONLY location, so make sure your wallet is filled.

I followed aftercare instructions and did nothing to dislodge it. When I called to explain what happened, I expected a little understanding or accountability, especially since it had just been done. Instead, I was offered a discounted rate to have it re-pierced -- not a full waiver, even though this was clearly not a fault on my end. But the manager showed zero remorse, offered no solution that reflected any genuine customer service, and left me feeling dismissed and frustrated. Now I'm left without a piercing and can't afford to get it re-done because they wouldn't take accountability. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this felt like a complete lack of care for their clients. Do better. PS. the person who put in my stud was very lovely and seems experienced. From the moment I explained the issue, Amanda A was rude, dismissive, and acted as if I was bothering her. She immediately took an accusatory tone, spoke over me, and made assumptions without even listening to the full situation. At no point did she attempt to be helpful -- instead, she made it clear she had no interest in resolving the problem and treated me as if I had done something wrong. This kind of behavior is unacceptable from anyone representing a customer-facing business. I've had positive experiences at other locations, but this interaction left a very negative impression. I strongly hope management addresses this, as no customer should be treated this way.

Nope. Paid a pretty penny for a flat helix piercing, thought all would be ok. Decided to go to my regular piercer to downsize (I should have never veered from whom I generally go to) and they were concerned why such a thick gauge was used, I mentioned where I got it and was told they fix a lot of the piercings done there.

She's not that friendly and she made a spelling mistake on my husband's tattoo...and it was a tattoo that already had the correct spelling, but was being touched up! She misspelled the word "Always" wrong..spelling it Alwyas . We didn't notice it until we left the shop (and my husband had given her a $20.00 tip for the touch up, which I think she should have given back). So we had to make yet another trip there, paying tolls, etc. Leanne offered to fix it, but it's difficult to fix the letter "y" hanging down. She covered it with white. It still looks sucky and we were very disappointed. My daughter and her husband had horrible tattoos (finger ring tattoos) done there also, which they have had to pay to have fixed at another tattoo shop. Do not get a tattoo done by Leanne!!! PS - just wanted to add a PS here and explain that my husband needs glasses for reading and was not wearing them at the time :)

He not only brightened it up but also did a little once over on other areas to better blend the new work with the old, so now I have a lovely collection of autumn leaves and a greater definition of my birds against the grey wash in the background. Jarret has a really lovely demeanour, is calm and friendly to chat with (I didn't even need my phone!) and is a quick, knowledgeable, and skilled tattooist. I would recommend him without hesitation.

Full disclosure: I never went here to get a tattoo for myself, just to (unwillingly) keep my…read morecousin company as he got his (I'm from Calgary and not from the area, and he was my ride for the day so I didn't really have a choice). As such, I spent most of my time in the waiting room in the front lobby killing time. What I can tell you: The place is clean and orderly. The front staff were very friendly, and after observing them for an hour or so (as there wasn't much to do while waiting), they were very professional and helpful, to clients at the venue and over the phone. The waiting room consists of some padded chairs and a coffee table with binders with the various tattoos you can get. There's a water cooler and a washroom as well. I couldn't tell if they had free wifi, but there was one of those 'linksys' unsecured access points with full bars that worked from the lobby, which was handy for me since I was able to write a few Yelp reviews on my laptop while I was sitting around waiting (but with all unsecured wifi spots, especially those that you don't know who owns them, I would never to any kind of financial transactions or anything that requires inputting a password of any sort). I don't think I'd ever get a tattoo for myself (simply doesn't interest me), but if I were in BC and had to get one, I'd probably go here. 13/30

This piercer had a lot of red flags and in hindsight I should've not even gotten it done there as soon as I saw the equipment, and even before I got there because Staci was just brushing me and my concerns/questions off before the actual session. The first red flag was she had her apprentice pierce me and she wasn't even there to supervise. 2nd red flag was them using bioflex (which is made out of plastic and should never be used for initial piercings and titanium is the only appropriate piercing to be used, they were touting it like it was the best thing to use though) I should've walked out as soon as I saw that because never in my life have I been pierced with bioflex, it's always titanium flatbacks. They used 18g needles and said my piercing will heal as 20g too which is not a good gauge for cartilage piercings, they told me to just stretch it which is counterintuitive, CARTILAGE IS MORE RIGID AND WILL CAUSE ME A LOT MORE PAIN TO STRETCH!!!. I went to an APP store and they said while the piercing was straight, it's just the jewelry was highly inappropriate bc it's a corkscrew for nose piercings. Anyways I came back and Staci just exploded at me saying it was an insult I got a second opinion and just very passive aggressively telling me to sit down and she'll put metal in my ear if I wanted that so bad. It made me highly uncomfortable and I didn't even mean to insult her, besides she can't even be mad because it was her apprentice and NOT HER who pierced me. I spent 50 bucks to be berated and I will not be going back again. I felt very blindsided especially since she's been saying she uses surgical steel, even that's better than bioflex. I feel SCAMMED. Avoid this piercer. She was very defensive and mean, I have the RIGHT to get a second opinion because it's my body, no reason for her to be so unprofessional and raise her voice at a customer like that. I asked her to educate me on bioflex and she got even madder and defensive. Traumatic experience.

After meeting Staci, and having a conversation involving candy, expectations for piercing, and signing a waiver, I got seated promptly as a walk in, and was taken into the back for my first piercing. She was professional, courteous, friendly, and highly informative as well as supportive for after care. With a bright disposition and welcoming attitude, I will definitely be back here again and stay in touch in future. Thanks for the great first experience- one of many more to come~! :)
