The woman (I don't know her name, I guess I wasn't worth the time for an introduction) started our meeting by pointing at me and asking "What do you need?", while I was waiting for a banker (right after drilling another waiting customer as to why he was waiting). What followed was a very brief monologue of "Thats our policy and I don't make the policy." I was there to handle an insurance claim for my vehicle, which is financed by Financial One. Apparently they feel entitled to any insurance payout you receive, and don't care to take the time to even evaluate the situation. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS CREDIT UNION. They don't care about you, they don't care about your finances, and they will constantly refer to you as a "non-member" if you don't have a full membership with them. I would rate this credit union a 0 star if Yelp allowed it.

Hello everyone, my name is Marvin and I am a college student. 3 Years ago, I moved from Florida to…read moreMinnesota. Since Florida, I have been using State Farm and I was very satisfied with their service. So when I came to Minnesota, I did not hesitate to transfer my car insurance directly to this agency of State Farm. Garrett and Tony were quite welcoming and friendly. The first bill was in October 2017 and the total cost was $173.34 (which about 50% higher than I used to pay, but I thought it might just because of the state law and stuff), so I paid. Two months later, I had a small red light rear-end accident, no one was harmed, and the cars were completely fine. But for the first time involving something like this, we were so scared that we called our insurance companies immediately. For the rest of 2018, because of this record, my insurance payment rose to $239.15 and stayed that way. Until August 2018, it even rose to $296.32. Thank God I studied in the UK for six months from January 2019, so I suspended all insurance during this period. When I come back in August 2019, guess what happened? State Farm asked $315.66 a month. And this time, even the company representative found something's wrong, so they began to contact the State Farm head office and try to figure out what happened to my insurance. $300 car insurance? As a student, if I keep paying it, I will be soon enough broke before graduation! I finally decided to stop the entire insurance with State Farm before they charged me any dime again. In September 2019, I started using P insurance company. In this insurance company, I got all the coverage I've got from State Farm, and I only need to pay $106.92 (this is still the case with that small accident record I had). In the new year of 2020, my record was finally officially eliminated after three whole years. Now I only pay $89.96 per month and still get all the benefits that I used to get from State Farm. If you want to do a calculation, if I started using P company instead of State Farm back to three years ago, and paid $89 instead of $173, $106 with the accident record instead of $239, $296 or even $315, I would have saved a LOT OF money. In fact, over these three years, I spent an extra $2,201 for nothing, Isn't this just a terrible thing? I'd like to say that I'm not aiming at this specific State Farm agency. In fact, the staff here, Tony and Garrett were very nice gentlemen. I am only complaining about this unfortunately successful insurance company and their unreasonable charging system. Buying insurance is not buying clothes. The price does not necessarily determine the quality. I would like to suggest that if you can find an not necessarily famous insurance company that can offer you the same coverage for a cheaper price, choosing them will save yourself to a huge amount of unnecessary expenses. I shopped for insurance about five years ago, leaving a company that I had been with for over a decade. My decision to select Shawn Nistler, and the Insurance Brokers of MN Team, was influenced by the savings they identified, but mostly based on the consultative approach they took to identifying and understanding my families insurance needs and exposure. We came up with a comprehensive package that made me comfortable, knowing I was having a new driver in our household and soon attending college out of state. So all is great... It's just insurance right? Fast forward to January 2021 when our child was hit from behind totaling his vehicle, with the impact pushing him into the stopped vehicle in front of him. Sending him to the hospital for ER trauma treatment. Here are the results of this No Fault Accident with injuries to my household... ZERO! After coming home from the accident scene, and hospital, I sent an email to Shawn on the evening of the accident it was late... I immediately received a personal call from Shawn while he was out of the office, on a weekend vacationing with his family. Shawn's consultative approach to our coverage and the AutoOwners policy completely protected my household from any costs, claims or personal damages. It needs to be said that the driver who rear ended our Son and totaled his vehicle has Geico Ins coverage, something they most likely bought online... after all 15 minutes could save you 15% right??? Well, in this case the Geico coverage was not enough to cover the damages to their own totaled vehicle much less the other 2 vehicles damaged, nor was it comprehensive enough to cover the medical costs. In less than 10 days after the accident AutoOwners has already completed and processed our claims, provided payment for our totaled vehicle and we have not seen a medical bill! Geico... well they sent us a notice confirming our claim exceeded the owners coverage and stating we would have to use our company AutoOwner for our claim and indicating AutoOwners would then have to pursue their insured for reimbursement! Basically washing their hands of it and hanging out their customer to dry! 15 minutes has cost this person much more than I'm sure they figured they saved! My advise... "It can happen to you" work with a professional! Shawn and his Team understand insurance and have saved and shielded my family from loss while providing personal service second to none.
