Do not let Rachel colour your hair!…read more I asked for copper orange / red colour and got a punky pink instead. I showed her a picture and asked her to replicate the look. Large areas were not coloured and it looked like I had taken a box of dye to my own hair and missed half of it. I called her after I took a closer look at home and saw what a hack job it was, especially underneath and at the back. I showed my friends and they were shocked at how terrible it was. When I complained, she offered to strip the hair and recolour, but every other hair dresser I consulted said that stripping is a bad idea and will ruin my hair. Online the forums say not to strip the hair, it will leave it brittle and broken. After what she did the first time I don't trust her. I had completely natural hair before I went to her, I have no idea how she messed it up so badly. Bright pink in some areas, other places were left a dull pink or deep brown. Pink and brown do not go well together. Rachel seems like a nice person, but after she refused to refund the payment for what she did to my hair the least I can do is warn other people so that at least you can avoid the same thing happening to you.

This was probably the worst hairdressers experience I've had…read more I want to note that the staff at the salon had beautiful manners, apart from continuously calling me Jessica which is not my name. Manners aside I was extremely disappointed in the outcome. I came for a full head of foils and a cut. Usually something that takes two hours, maybe 2.5, and never costs more than two eighty; but these guys charged $400.00, and the whole process took an exhausting 5.5 hours. The whole experience was painful, literally. They didn't take care when it came to scraping the comb along my scalp. Pulling, tugging on my hair. Ripping out the foils along with some of my hair. And at the end when they were drying, the girl burnt my ear with the hair straightener....more than once. I told the hairdresser I need my hair long enough to tie back as I work in Allied Health and can't have my hair flying all over the place. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and asked her if she could recreate the style as best as she can, reminding her to keep my hair at a certain length. She kept cutting, and cutting, and cutting. I could hear the sound of the scissors creeping closer to my ears, but trusted she would keep it long enough. She ended up cutting it so short I can't even run my pinky finger through it. The cool blonde I asked for lasted no more than two weeks before it turned to crimson. It looks hideous and it's barely been three weeks. I don't know what's happened, I've never had this problem before, and I am a natrual blonde was just trying to go lighter, not orange. All this pain for $400.00 not worth it. And with all the pain, I would rather sit through another tattoo.

Ahhhh!!! The joy of finding a hair salon full of hairdressers who just know what to do! Being new…read moreto the area 12 months ago and following the birth of my baby, I was in desperate need of finding a hair salon to fix me up. Being a bleached blonde with damaged hair, I'll admit I'm not the easiest client. But quite frankly a visit to the hairdressers used to give me the shakes, nobody could seem to get my hair the shade of ash blonde I desired, and the long hair I craved went up in smoke as it would be snapped away. And then by miracle Toni K became the only salon I knew close to my home. Twelve months later I am a devoted client; making my way to the salon every six weeks to pamper myself with a cut, colour and treatment. My hair is now half way down my back with not a tint of brassy blonde. I've never been one to enjoy the banter of forced conversation between hairdresser and client, but the atmosphere of the salon combined with the genuine chit chat between hairdressers, Toni K himself and clients alike gives the salon an olden day barber shop feel with all the modern trimmings of a modern salon. I simply can't speak more highly of the results I've received. Every time I leave I feel like a million dollars, ecstatic at my cut, colour and the price I've paid for it all. If you decide to book an appointment, Astin is a tried and tested professional. She is respectful about what you want and is able to pull it off with perfection. And if you're a guy, the girls can look after you just as well, but you might want to test out Toni K; I've seen him work his magic on quite a few fellas who are obviously regulars, and all I can is the man certainly deserves a self titled hair salon.
