St Paul's School of Nursing in Staten Island was a great decision for me. Although there were other…read morelocal colleges that also offered nursing programs, I felt that there was too much red tape involved to their admission process. Because this is an accelerated program, you need to stay focused, limit your social life, and make adjustments in your work/family life. The accelerated program is packed full of information, so it's easy to get overwhelmed. But St. Pauls gave me the tools I needed to successfully graduate the nursing program in August 2024 and subsequently pass the NCLEX in October 2024. I'm grateful to all the wonderful professors and other personnel I have encountered who helped me succeed. I can honestly say that every professor from start to finish put me on a path to reach my goal of becoming a registered nurse.

Stay far away from this nursing program. Professor Taylor in…read moremedical-surgical is a disaster--more interested in her side business than actually teaching. Charlie was an excellent teacher, both knowledgeable and helpful when asked. Otherwise he left us to figure stuff out, which I appreciated. Marsha Trattner (the owner of She-Weld) was also really sweet and gave use a brief lesson on the science behind welding and how to properly hammer metal (it's trickier than I thought). I was blistered and exhausted by the end of the 6+ hours I was there, but completely satisfied with everything that I learned. If my schedule allowed it, I wouldn't have waited so long to take another class, but I've already signed up to return in April for another class. Super stoked!
