I asked for traditional medium reading but received an intuitive life coaching session. Judging from the other reviews, it seems this happened to others. While it was obvious Ryka was intuitive during our session, I did not see evidence of being a traditional medium. I was asked to prepare questions & photos for the reading. I had little insight into the matters most important to me that I addressed in my questions. She only asked for one of my photos. Sadly, I spent 2 hours frustrated and was then asked to return to work with her on myself on a regular basis. This was not experience I expected. If her services include coaching, it should be clear that the customer wants that service before the pre-paid appt so there are no misunderstandings. In short, Ryka was not a good match for my needs/desires. If you decide to work with her, you must have a very open conversation about her services and your expectations. read more

I didn't really know what I was expecting when I called and scheduled a reading with Ryka. I called on a whim, got ahold of her right away, and scheduled our call. I panicked after we hung up, and throughout the week with what do I ask? What do I think I am going to get out of this? Am I sure I believe in this? WHAT AM I DOING??? Thankfully, our appointment rolled around, I had a "list of questions" I got from Google (they were my takes on questions, but with guidance of what to ask) and we started. Turns out, I used about 3 of the questions, but it flowed, and I started asking questions from the heart, and based on what was coming out. I got clarity and emotional healing on the biggest issue I had been dealing with, learned more about myself, I feel am more in tuned with myself overall, and was able to discuss things that I never thought I would discuss with someone else- now that was interesting! I walked away feeling lighter, more guided, having better clarity on things and really felt like I was motivated to work through things. None of this would have been possible without Ryka, and it was amazing how comfortable she made me feel during our call. It was wonderful and I will definitely be doing it again. I went for a few consults with Ryka after a loved one died. I really wanted to contact my deceased loved one. Ryka was genial and enthusiastic. She asked me a lot more questions than I was expecting about myself and the loved one I hoped to contact. Ryka was not able to contact my loved one in any session, but that's not something she can ever guarantee. Instead, she explained that my spirit guides had messages for me. I had done some research prior to seeking out a medium, but wasn't very familiar with this concept. So I asked a lot of questions which she answered. The point at which Ryka was offering me the advice of my spirit guides is where this experience became troubling. The advice she gave was very heavy handed, along the lines of don't-do-this-thing-you're-doing. Over and over. And over. And over. About everything. Like the way I was grieving, the decisions I was making on behalf of my loved one, my relationships.... I cried throughout the sessions. But I kept an open mind and looked for value in this litany of problems I didn't know I had before. One example of a problem I didn't think I had was with the way I took notes. Bringing a notebook to a medium session was recommended in the research I read and by Ryka. Great! I'm an effective note taker. Or apparently not, because at one point in my last session Ryka took my notebook from me since I wasn't writing down what she wanted in the way she wanted. (The list she was giving me was not centered on the page. Seriously? Who cares? No one is going to read my notes but me. And after this I don't even want to look at the notes.) It was truly uncomfortable for me. The basic premise of a spirit guide is that they're loving angels here to protect, support, and guide you with wisdom. I did not get a sense of anything like that in the advice Ryka gave me. I simply felt awful in the sessions and afterward. As I've been moving forward, I want to put the experience behind me. But I can't seem to shake this feeling of just how dreadful it was. I don't write online reviews. It's really not me. In fact I've talked myself out of writing this review a few times. But I have felt so compelled to do this. If you've had productive and helpful sessions with Rya, I'm glad. I am not into readings, I have never "charted my sign", nor have I ever called a psychic hotline but I am here to tell you this woman is the REAL DEAL. Ryka has an unusual insight that is hard to come by and a knowledge that is beyond explanation. She uses her abilities to help guide others and in my case to help provide a little understanding. My experience with Ryka was 100% positive. I felt comfortable and nurtured by her office space and surroundings, as well as being offered water. Ryka is not a psychic at all, she was pushing me to ask questions really quickly and never really answered them. I could have gotten those questions answered by a friend or even any stranger. I really feel like she's faking it and I wasted my money on someone who seems to be taking advantage of people. Ryka is a very lovely person. However, in my opinion, she is not a psychic medium. I never felt, at any time during the reading, that she had connected with the spirit of my deceased loved one. Nor did I sense any true connection with Spirit. On the other hand, the reading was like talking with a very blunt, sympathetic person. As a fellow psychic and energy healer, I rarely allow others to work on me, but I trust Ryka and I'm so thankful that I did. I needed help figuring out what was wrong with my love life. I truly was in a good place psychologically but was still manifesting the wrong things in my lovers. She determined the cause (past lives and genetics) and together we cleared it all. I felt like it was an interview. The things she said were a play off of what I was telling her. I do not think she has actual psychic abilities. She would ask a questions and then her guides would tell her something...but it was often just an inference. Some examples: -after i told her i was moving cities, she said yes i'm getting that you don't enjoy your current job -after i told her i went through a break up and that he was a guy that needed to be taught a lot, she said yes guides are telling me that he is resistant to grow up -i say my dad left, i'm getting he is unreliable I do think she is a very genuine person who cares about people. I do not think that she has any spiritual insights that are worth paying for. read more

I am absolutely impressed and thrilled with Ryka's readings. I have had two, two-hour sessions (my first time with a spiritual guide) and she has known details about my life and family that I didn't even know. I called my mother to confirm after one of the readings and she said Ryka was right on. Beyond knowing that she is truly talented, she is also kind, empathetic and I have to say that I have learned more about my life and self from her than I have in years of therapy. I had a two hour session with Ryka yesterday. It's the nature of these things that one reaches out for a consultation when things are not going quite as one wants or expects. At that moment one is looking for someone to say it's going to be alright. This is where Ryka's real strengths lie: she is a wonderful therapeutic counselor. She has a lot of good advice for how to best see and work with your issues. She is an excellent listener and has a lot of experience with people who are struggling through transitions. The take-away piece for me is that we are all fully in control over what awaits us and much of it is guided not by Fate but by our attitude and our daily actions. One needs to be emotionally prepared for the outcomes we are hoping for and it would appear many of us are not and hence we get in the way of our own best interests. Two or three years ago, I started researching local psychics in an attempt to find some relief and clarity in my personal darkness and chaotic way of muddling through it. I contacted Ryka for pricing. You pick what you want to pay her based off a set range; the two hour session is by far the best value and worth every penny. To date, I have had several sessions with Ryka. As have my mother, grandmother, brother, friends, and co-workers. I will continue to see her as she has helped us manifest a balance in our lives we didn't know we needed or didn't believe could be found. Ryka has helped me heal. She has a way of talking to you and phrasing things that only you have said or have phrased in your head and never aloud. Whether it is to cope with external loss, tap in to why you have certain habits, are wrestling with relationships in your life, or even to just calm the noise in your head, Ryka's connection to Spirit will help you identify the needs of your soul, resolve the unnecessary toxic beliefs you have about yourself and others, and learn to move forward in the most life-changing of ways. There have been some previous reviews that claim Ryka is not a real psychic. I'd be curious to see what the reviewers' definition of a psychic is. Some people think a psychic should be all-knowing and tell you exactly what you want to hear. Ryka is not going to tell you where you left your pencil. She is not going to tell you what you want to hear. In fact, most of what she tells you can be difficult to digest. She is going to tell you, in the most direct yet caring of ways, why you struggle for success, or compassion, or accountability, or [insert what your challenge is here]. She pushed for a 2 hour phone session though I knew 1 hour was enough. She asked me to have a list of questions, which I prepared but then she asked me for extensive detail on each question. That isn't what I have experienced before with any true medium. She also asked me to meditate on or firmly request that any dead relatives or spirit guides show up to help her. I did this but when I asked who had shown up she couldn't tell me. I quote, "I don't know." Again, I have never experienced this with a genuine medium. Some of my questions were never answered and the ones that were answered were answered in the way a friend might answer them if I was confiding/venting/asking for advice. Once she received DETAILS on my questions she basically gave me her advice including foods to eat and your basic "let it go" and you will "find forgiveness" type stuff. I could have gotten that from anyone. So, 2 hours and more than a hundred bucks later I had no answers from the divine or spirit or spirit guides. What I got was a lot of HER personal opinions/advice. Nothing more. She then ended the call (my paid time) with a long schpill about just starting her "business" and please leave a testimonial on her website...etc...etc... I knew I would not be leaving a testimonial but didn't want to hurt her feelings. I had this phone reading more than a week ago and it took me this long to finally decide to post on other review sites. I don't want to down her or her livlihood but ultimately had to share my experience/opinion so that others (especially those in dire need/vulnerable like me) can be somewhat "warned".
