Mr. Menzel was patient and professional, and even showed me some favor. He was kind enough even when payment was delayed, and he is willing to help me with the returns for my previous years. I didn't notice that the calendar appointments were set for 3pm, instead of my requested time. I sent 2 emails, with no reply, and decided to wait until 3 pm. As of this posting, (3:30pm) I still have not heard from Lyle, nor anyone else at Prepared Accounting about my appointment. No invitation to go to meeting, nor any word as to why my appointment time changed inexplicably. I guess I will keep looking for a good CPA.

Despite being in full tilt for the April tax deadlines, Lyle took on our tax return and books management without hesitation and without judgement for being underprepared (my label, not his). He turned it around in record time, being sensitive to some of our other financial applications that needed our returns early, and stayed late with me one night to get me and the books up to speed. In short, I came to him with a late request, with weak documentation and preparation on my end, and he turned it around and delivered excellent service. I also found him to be extremely considerate, kind, and sensitive to the stresses small business owners feel in their early years. I will be recommending him widely in the area and returning for his services regularly. Prepared Accounting far exceeded even my most ambitious expectations for great tax and accounting services.

April 1st started to call to see when I could pick up my easy filings. No call back, left numerous messages/emails nothing. Then I get a message an extension needs to be filed. No direction just that she's filing an extension. I just received a $240 invoice from the IRS due to the extension on top of what I owe. Oh did I mention Bernice charge of $250. Awful customer relations, no follow up or communication with clients. Doesn't matter you've been a loyal customer for 25 years. She needs to retire if she can't handle tax season. STAY AWAY!!

For the last five years Bernice has been preparing our taxes and she has consistently surprised me. I have a refund on the way this year instead of the federal bloodletting I was expecting, and I have complete confidence in her ethics and expertise. I found her office professional, friendly, and easy to deal with as well. I dropped off my documents and my questionnaire in early February and she had them done within a week or ten days. I would pay a good deal more than the fee she charges for the quality of service her office provides. I try not to dwell on how much I overpaid in the years before I started going to Bernice's office, but I know where I'll be bringing my taxes next year!
