Dr. Striar helped me control my temper. something I thought nobody could ever help me with because I am already too old to change. I am a mother of 2 boys with a part time job and a part time graduate student. Often times my temper would turn into some harsh yelling towards my kids. I've yelled so much that my boys did not want me around much. Not only did she help me control my temper, but she helped me understand where it was coming from, what made me lash out at my boys so much. I've seen her on weekly basis (last year) for a few months and she really instilled some sound advice and guidance in me on how to control my temper. After about 3 months both of my boys (age 9 and 17.5) told me this "mom, we have noticed you don't yell at us anymore, we don't know why but we love you this way". That made me burst into tears and I wasn't even aware I had stopped the yelling and lashing out. So, yes Dr Striar gets credit for this positive change in my behavior. Unqualified trauma specialist assigned to my case. My insurance was billed for an hour when most…read moresessions were cut off by this "specialist" as early as 17 minutes into the session. Another was 22 minutes to add context. I then stopped using this office. After about a week or so I started to receive harassing phone calls from a rude and obnoxious person threatening me with legal action if I didnt pay a ridiculous amount of money for time I never received care for. After refusing to pay for care I never received, they then sent a fake legal notice from the office. Check your insurance data for accuracy And choose another therapist Not only was the therapist unqualified but the quality of care wasn't good at all.
