We loved their metrics and research of comps and knowledge of our market. They adapted immediately with all of the extra rules and precautions that came alone with Covid-19 issues (limited number of people in our home at one time, signed attestations of health and well being before being "qualified" for a showing, etc.). The use of Facebook to record our open house was excellent in any situation, but especially with a public health emergency) as it could be seen my anyone, any time, as many times as desired. Also, the 3-D tour was just as cool as it was helpful for interested buyers to see the entire property, 24/7, and even do measurements! Susan was superb in dealing with the appraiser. They both offered very helpful advice about managing the multiple offers and in negotiations. We were kept in touch with in real-time and the app the used was very helpful as well. They are both are very trustworthy, communicated clearly, responded immediately to all calls or texts and really held our hands when we needed support! Ethical, professional, highly recommended.     Simply the best! I…read moream an artist and first got to work with BEI as a resident of Water Street Studios. I had an issue with a leaking limestone wall that Kristen Johnson immediately repaired for me so that my artwork would not sustain any damage. She was quick and attentive and worked so diligently to make sure it was fixed properly and completely. I so much appreciated that! When looking for a studio closer to my home, I worked with BEI again to obtain a space in the Cedar Avenue Business Center in St. Charles. Austin Dempsey, Scott Prudden and Kristen Johnson were so helpful and understanding of the needs of creatives! Our building has been growing with artists and it has made the location perfect. I appreciate BEI being easy to reach, approachable, willing to help in all ways possible, and appreciative of their tenants - often treating us like family. You don't find that in many places. To show how supportive they are of the artists in the building, they even allowed us to temporarily use some large office space in our building to curate and create an art gallery that we could open to the public.     Cawley Chicago Management managed the office space that our company leased from May, 2008 until…read moreMay, 2022 (14 years). Despite a few hiccups with the 70s-era HVAC (baseboard heating, and many, many days when the temperature in the office hovered in the 90s), we were happy in the space. Until our lease was up and it came time to leave. We were told that prior to vacating the space, we were responsible for removing a supplemental AC unit in our server room. The unit was there when we moved into the space in 2008 - in fact we built our server room around the existing unit to keep our equipment cool (especially on the 90 degree days when the main building AC was not working). We informed Cawley that the unit was not ours, we did not purchase it, and we were not responsible for removing it. They refused to listen to us. We asked them for proof that the unit was indeed ours, which of course they could not provide. We of course appealed to the business owner - KMMRD LLC of Naperville, IL, but the owner - who owns multiple buildings in the area - would not intervene with his property management company since it was going to cost him money. Prior to leaving, we pulled a service tag from the unit which showed that it was serviced prior to May, 2008 when we moved in. The HVAC company (Atomatic) also confirmed that the unit had been there prior to May, 2008. To no avail, Cawley informed us that they could remove the unit for us for $2,250. To make a long story short, we just last week received our security deposit from Cawley, minus $2,861.36, which is what they charged us for removal of the unit which was not even ours. This is the way you treat a good, loyal tenant who was never late with the rent payment in 14 years? I'm sure there are many decent landlords and property management companies who do value their tenants, but KMMRD LLC and Cawley Chicago Management absolutely do not. Lessor beware.
