Called them early today to have a thumb latch handle on my front door repaired. The bolt was not depressing causing it to stick when closed. I was told they would be at my house between 11-12. They arrived around 11:30. Two very nice older gentlemen proceeded to take the mechanism apart, and took the time to explain what the problem was. In about 25 minutes, the issue was resolved. On Tuesday April 13, 2024, I got to my home and was unable to get in and had tried over three house keys to the front door, and then knew it was time to call someone. After not having any locksmiths in my local area we called RD's and requested that they be there when possible. Sure enough, less than 2 hours later they showed up ready. We had only needed in the house but soon realized that two locks were going to need replaced the night of, due to the locks being very old! Rick and John gave great value for time and money by sticking to their original cost and staying to install the two new locks. They even cut new keys for the locks on the spot, which was very helpful and took out a step on my end. My fireproof cabinet lock busted this morning and called him and he was here by 1. Super nice man worked on my filing cabinet for over an hour and ordered me a new lock. Excellent and prompt service. I called around 5 pm on December 29th. It was cold and raining and I was stranded outside of my truck. I'm not from the area and I googled locksmiths. The first was a nationwide locator who said they had contract locksmiths "everywhere"; they didn't. The second one I called wanted credit card payment information upfront; they made that clear before they asked for any information or provided a quote. When I said that my wallet was locked in my pickup along with my keys, they said they couldn't help me and hung up. I googled again and got different results. The address of this company was about 30 miles from my location at a state park and the locksmith kept the phone call short and was on his way. I had locked my keys and wallet in my truck intentionally because I have keypad for entry that I had added about 3 years ago. Recently, I had been considering taking it apart and replacing the battery to prevent any lockouts. And last night it failed to work but the battery hadn't died, two buttons stopped working. After examining it this morning, I could see that it had received some physical damage - I'm not sure if something heavy fell against it or if someone tampered with it. Anyway, I was locked out. RDS lock provided professional, prompt service at a very reasonable price. I was given a price over the phone and that is exactly what they charged me after the job was complete. read more
