But today, I'm going to give it my best shot! Dr. Jordan does osteopathic manipulative treatment, or physical manipulation. Here's the best definition I could find: "Osteopathic manipulative treatment, or OMT, is hands-on care. It involves using the hands to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness or injury. Using OMT, your osteopathic physician will move your muscles and joints using techniques including stretching, gentle pressure and resistance." So, now that we've (kinda) defined OMT, I'll get back to my review of Dr. Jordan... I'm a total sicky, so I spend a lot of time in doctors' offices. One battle I've been fighting for a couple of years is with my galbladder. Who knew that pesky organ could render your right shoulder almost immovable?! Well, it can. I've been seeing Dr. Jordan for about 5 months for manipulations on my shoulder and gallbladder, and he's amazing! He's kind and smart, and he's always thinking of alternatives to traditional medicine and surgery. And that's right up my alley. Don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to traditional medicine; I just don't respond well to it.
