Love when people leave reviews that have zero truth to them. I have a personal and business…read morechecking account, 2 savings, 2 loans, and a money market account with Armstrong bank. #1- I don't even work in a bank and I'm pretty sure 90% +/- of banks require a checking account with HELOCs. #2- I transfer money from my wife's bank to Armstrong every single pay day. Yes it took me 2 tries to get it set up but it happened and works just fine. Yes you have to be approved to make deposit but it's a simple phone call. Man, that's so hard to do. Yes you can deposit more than $1,000, again it's a simple phone call. Man, that's so hard to do. Yes you can access statement but it's a simple phone call. Man, that's so hard. #3- Ya customer service is not the greatest from someone that is just a teller. Branch manager and his assistant have answered my question within an hour anytime I have emailed or called. No tellers don't have authority to do some things. Same at the bank you have been at for 25 years. #4 Now your repeating yourself. If you aren't happy with all these things, go get a HELOC from that great bank you have been with for 25 years. BBB can't do anything when everything you are stating is not true, when I have zero of these issues. Bryce, Megan, and the entire staff at Claremore as well as staff at Collinsville have been nothing but great. Go above and beyond everyday and anytime I call. Send all my clients looking for financing to them all the time. Keep up the great work Armstrong.

It's been one disappointment after another since we started banking with Armstrong…read more #1. We opened a HELOC from Armstrong to cover some home renovations. They required we have a checking account with them to open the HELOC. Okay. That's fine. I never intended to move my money to Armstrong (and I'm glad I haven't), so I don't understand why the checking account was necessary. I've had loans through other banks without having to open an account. I'm mostly irritated because it's just one more account we have to manage. #2. While signing the paperwork, they tell you to download the app--you'll be able to do ALL your banking from the app. No. No you won't. You can't transfer funds from another bank (you can't do this online, either), you can't make mobile deposits (until they "approve" you for mobile deposits, and even then you can only deposit $1,000 per day), you can't even access your bank statements from the app or the online portal. I'm still trying to figure out the point of the mobile app. #3. Unlike any bank that I've ever worked with, they have the lousiest customer service. We continue to ask questions and their response is: "Let us look into that." Then, no follow-up. Or they refer you to a different person. No one seems to have the authority to do anything. And you're not allowed to talk to anyone that does have the authority to do something. #4. Knowing what I know now, I'm really unsure how they function as a bank without some of the most simple things. Like, is this legal? How much longer before I need to reach out to the Better Business Bureau? For example...you cannot transfer funds bank to bank. Our primary bank account is setup with a different (also local) bank where I've banked for more than 25 years. Their system is simple: we direct deposit our paychecks and then transfer money to the various accounts to cover bills, save, or invest. A bank-to-bank transfer is one of the most simple tasks a bank should offer. It's how we pay our mortgage. It's how we make our car payments. But for some reason, Armstrong Bank will not allow us to transfer from bank to bank. So...now I have to write a check (who has checks anymore, by the way?!), deposit it into my checking account at Armstrong, wait for the check to clear, and then make the HELOC payment. Ain't nobody got time for that! 0/10--do not recommend. I beg you, please take your money/business anywhere but here. I will shout it from the rooftops. I do not recommend Armstrong Bank.
