I expected a gloomy garage with a haircut from a retired landscaper, a bowl and a weed whacker. That IS NOT how it is at all going to Brandi's Place. The establishment is neat and upbeat. It hosts a bunch of barber chairs and an assortment of ladies young and vintage who are ready to tackle my mop. You sign in and wait in a spacious room to be called in for a cut. You get the barber you get. (Don't know about you, but my life has been like that since birth, so it's no big deal for me) The process is quick and friendly. I've been going to Brandi's for four years now. I walk away looking better than I walked in every time. $8. It gives me the chance to be grateful and exercise generosity come tip time. Which leads me to the genius of this business model. Honest hard work for a fair price. They are packed with clients, clippers buzz, chit chat commences and peace falls upon the valley. You could raise the price, but then you would be the $11 haircut place... the $12.50 place... where would that end? I would like to believe that Villagers who frequent this place pay well in the tips so that the price stays flat and the line stays out the door. If you're interested in a decent cut for a price you could brag about, then give Brandi's Place a go. It does what you need and then some.

Let me start by saying that I haven't been to a barber shop in 30 years for myself (yeah it's been…read morethat long since I had a reason, no bald fades, just bald) but I've recently started growing my beard and I decided to go to the new shop at Fade Fanatics. When I went there a couple of weeks ago I couldn't get in but today I was able to walk in and "Supa Ed"(owner), was able to line me up with the precision of a "beard surgeon". Fade Fanatics is what the barbershop use to be, a place for community to be able to just talk about what's going on in the local community. Fade Fanatics is one of the few shops that "welcomes" walk-ins. NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED!!! The two big screen tv's and the spacious seating area gives those waiting for service a chance to enjoy the overall barbershop experience.....
