Select your type- they have Philly cheesesteak, Big Grove Beer battered, Korean short rib, creole, and mango habanero. All of them slap like a disgraced debutante whose promenade partner got fresh behind the ice sculpture. Driving to the East Side of Iowa city and simply want a top shelf Cuban Sandwich? Well tough shit for you, they don't have it on the top shelf; it's made fresh in front of your face. (In terms of quality though I will put that in a tip shelf). Finally, the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. The usual stereotype I have of a butcher is a really beefy and gruff dude with chronic meat sweats, who pals around with a baker and candlestick maker (why is that a job btw, that seems like a hobby at best). These guys don't look like that- giving me a lesson in stereotypes and judging books via their cover. As I chomp down on my deliciously spiced sausages, I realize that both my horizons and waistline have expanded. Finally, it is pronounced Toe-Ma's. There are good businesses... and then there are businesses with heart…read more First, let me just say -- the quality of the meat here is absolutely exceptional. It's so flavorful and tender that I honestly don't have the right words. And their bacon? OMG Every cut I've purchased has been fresh, beautifully prepared, and incredibly delicious. And the prices? More than fair. You truly feel like you're getting amazing quality without the inflated markup. Recently, I had a small mix-up with an order. I placed and paid for what I needed, and when I got home, I realized a large cut had accidentally been included that I hadn't ordered. I called right away, and the owner was so kind and flexible about having me bring it back (even though I live about 20 minutes away). When I returned, he didn't just "fix" the mistake. He went above and beyond. He refunded the $54 for the large cut and generously added additional packages of meat -- including more of what I had originally ordered. That kind of service is rare. It felt thoughtful. It felt personal. It felt like someone who truly cares about his customers. The assistant was also helpful and kind -- you can tell this place operates with integrity from top to bottom. Exceptional quality. Affordable pricing. And service that genuinely exceeds expectations. I will absolutely continue supporting this business -- and recommending it to anyone who values both flavor and heart.

We have lived in SoCal, Connecticut, Michigan and now W. Texas and Amana has shipped 2 day shipping w/ice paks to all our addresses and never a spoiled item to date. Now, I'm honest and fair with ALL my reviews so I will say the 2 day shipping is on the higher side, around $32.00+- for our cross country shipping. Your $hipping may be less, may be more, it just depends on your .delivery location. We have not visited their retail shop simply because we haven't lived in their area. Our pork chops arrived individually wrapped and with Amana's own Horseradish sauce. This evening we had pork chops for dinner and I must say the BEST flavored pork chops ever! Each pork chop is bone in and about 3/4" thick. I highly recommend Amana Meat Shop & Smokehouse. BTW, our favorite are the breaded pork tenderloins.

I am spoiled as a chef lol The chicken was ok... No free ice cream they wanted a buck for cup or cone. It was ok on the food... but we drove past a few places that would to have been same price for 2x the food. Off to shopping More room for folks Hard to find some of the specials And out and out bait and switch on the Nathen's hot dog deal the add listed the plain all beef and what was in the store was the ultra spicy ones... That was my main reason for the trip as 99 cents per lb would have been good for a winter stock up item... They did have the biscuits as box of 100 for 20 bucks And bulk fish triangles for 1.99 a lb And Heinz close dated ketchup 44 oz for 2.99 So not a total bust I might be back if I get more freezer space But I do almost as good in west of Bloomfield at Hwy 2 discount
