This is normally something I would have done myself, but due to time constraints I needed to hire a company. I was quoted $90/hr + parts. Seemed reasonable for a quick job. The tech was a great guy and made quick work of the repair. I was really happy with the completed job. That was until the invoice came over at just under $400. I was shocked when I saw the price and thought it might have been a mistake, so I asked for an itemized copy of the parts. Turns out it was not a mistake, they just mark up their parts by 400%-600%. I understand the business side and marking up parts... I am completely okay with that. However price gouging to this extent is pretty excessive. Sprinkler valve box at $40 each.. and small waterproof wire splices at $5 each is absolute robbery. The tech did a great job with the repair. I was happy with the work done, but I paid a PREMIUM for it. Just be aware of this before you have them complete any work for you.

Big chunk of one of my large trees blew down and broke apart during a storm earlier this week. I…read morehad heard a loud sound, but it was dark out and I didn't discover the actual problem until the next afternoon. I obtained three names and numbers of tree services from friends and called Sunshine late that afternoon. Before 8 a.m. the following morning Todd had looked at the damage and the whole tree and gave me a verbal assessment of what needed to be done, what the price would be, and when the work could be done (same day). Shortly, I received an email confirmation of our conversation and sent back acceptance as I liked their quick response, what I thought was a reasonable price, and straight assessment without any up-selling. Within a short time, Todd called to update me on time of arrival of his crew. By 11 a.m., there were 4 guys in my yard working on the tree and debris removal. They worked diligently in rainy weather to complete the job. Every bit of debris was cleaned up and the tree looks great and is so much safer now.
