Ray and his team are truly the best. I'm 47 and they make me 10yrs younger, according to my wife, each time I go. My son is multi-ethnic and they do a phenomenal job with his hair as well. They are true professionals and everyone should check them out at least once. read more

Ray is Ok, but Monica is the best! Actually they are both amazing barbers and people. I was back in town for a funeral and just walked in based on a family recommendation. They knew every person that walked in the door by name cause they have all been going for years. May have to just save my cuts for when I'm back in Jersey from now on. read more

Ray consistently does a good job. Also takes care of ears and nose hair for the males that need. It's best to make an appointment although he does take walk-ins, but it can get pretty crowded on weekends. He is a little chatty so if you aren't into that, just keep that in mind. read more

Amazing experience !! The shop was clean and I was greeted on arrival with a friendly smile . I was slightly early for my appointment time but was taken immediately. My haircut was reasonably priced and genuinely the best cut I've had in a long while. Ray has a great sense of humor if a bit corny at times but it's hard not to laugh. Definitely recommend a visit. read more

Fantastic service and experience. Ray is a great professional and Monica does a fantastic job. See you soon A read more

This is my preferred barber shop. There are a silly number of barber shops in Ramsey and they're all basically on the same block. Even with that being the case I choose Ray and his team every time. Easy, quick and fairly priced. Why go anywhere else? read more

Ray is a gentleman and an excellent barber. His shop has three chairs and is always packed with clientele from the community. They do men and kids and they take appointments and walk ins. Cash only - please tip generously and support these wonderful small businesses! read more

Ray is the best. Quick and always a great cut. Been going for years now. He does take walk-ins but it is best to call ahead of time

I've been going to Ray for years (tip: he takes walk-ins but you can make an appointment) based on a recommendation when we first moved to the neighborhood. My hair always looks great, and the free wax is a nice touch. Ray is a gem and always puts a smile on my face. He is also great with my elderly father who loves going there! read more

Rays is the best barber to ever do it. Always a great vibe gives such great haircuts. Rays is the place to go if you want a great quality haircut read more

Ray's is a great spot! Fast, clean and professional. Getting a haircut is simple and quick. Customer service is where they shine. Ray even moved my car for me while I was getting my hair cut by Jackie so I would avoid a ticket. I am so glad to have found this place. read more

Ray is a really pleasant guy who seems very passionate about customer service, I wish him well in life. That being said, neither Ray, my haircut, or my experience here was my cup of tea. First of all, Ray spent the bulk of my haircut telling me pretty inappropriate comments and jokes (mostly misogynistic and a homophobic one for good measure). A week later I'm still kind of bothered by some of the stuff he said. The fact that he told some of these jokes while a pre-teen was sitting in the next chair made it even worse. Next weird situation was the waxing. He asked if I wanted my ears waxed. He's first barber to ever offer to wax the fuzz from inside my ears so I didn't know what to expect but said sure. Before I could object he had dipped a couple q-tips in wax and put them in my nose (in addition to my ears). The pain of having those ripped out was pretty intense and stung for hours afterward. I'm not sure why he wouldn't have asked about that part of the waxing, I definitely would have declined the offer. The haircut was the worst part. I told him I wanted a #2 on the sides and to cut about 1.5 inches off the top. I also told him that the previous barber messed up and left too much hair on my part in the back and that it should be cut short there. He used the buzzer for, at most, the bottom inch of my hair, and cut the rest with scissors. He left the weird long part I had complained about and told me I should be combing my hair differently. I realized he thought he was done when he asked if I was happy with the haircut. The hair on my sides being nearly as long as when I came in (a far cry from a #2), I asked him to cut it shorter. For a moment he objected and then I stood my ground and asked him again to go shorter. He cut a bit more off with the scissors but again left my hair more than twice as long as I've ever gotten it cut and with a part in the back I wasn't comfortable with. It's also worth mentioning that he's raised the prices to $30 for a men's haircut and is cash only (an ATM is on premises). I've gotten a haircut every 4-6 weeks for my entire adult life and this was the first time I've had to go to another barber shortly after to get a cut fixed. I'm only giving him 2 stars because I do think he means well and based on all the positive reviews online I'm sure his personal style is fine for some people. read more

The owner is very gossipy about others; annoying to listen to. He doesn't shut up; and his jokes, which are sexual in nature and very homophobic are inappropriate around the young minds of our township. And the way he holds his hand out for a tip at the end of the cut; just rubbed me the wrong way. read more

I have known Ray for over 20 yrs. He has cut my hair and my son's hair when he worked as an employee at other shops. Ray is an immigrant from another country and has worked hard his whole life to open his own shop. He knows the value of hard work and the value of a customer drive business. Everyone who enters his establishment is treated with kindness and respect. He is very outgoing and appreciates everyone. If you have read any negative reviews about him, they are just not true and probably fabricated with the sole purpose to cause harm to his business. He and his to co-workers Monica and Jackie are excellent barbers/stylists. I only wish him well and continued success. read more

One of the best haircut my son has ever received. The owner Mr. Ray is amazing. He made us feel so comfortable. He even sprayed his hair with washable colors for fun. Made his day! read more

Maria was friendly, fast, and the haircut and ear/nose wax was stellar. Music wasn't too loud. Treated my 3 year old like a princess while she waited for my cut to be done. Price was fair. An impressive but unpretentious barber shop. Strongly recommend. read more

Great experience and great environment. I had the pleasure of getting my haircut by Monica and she did an exceptional job. I am a very picky person when it comes to my hair, she was very attentive and listened to exactly what I wanted. Even though it may have taken her a longer time than a usual trim/ she took her time and made sure everything was to my liking. Ramon the owner is a sweet person and makes sure that what you desire is what you will get. Again great experience and environment at Ray's. You will not not be disappointed read more

I got my fourth haircut at Ray's the other day, and I'm as happy with it as I was with the first three. I've been looking for what I'll call an 'old fashioned barber', so I'm glad Ray opened up his own place in town. What I mean by that is a place where: - You get a good, fast, all scissor cut from an experienced person. - You're comfortable in the chair in a nice, clean place. - You don't even have to say what you're looking for by the second visit. Ray's checks all the boxes, and my sons now go there too. read more

I wAs referred to Ray's from one of my sons football friend from Ramsey and she has been using him for years. I went there today and what a great VIBE in his salon. Ray knew exactly how to cut my sons here because it was terrible and needed a good haircut for a function this weekend. I totally recommend this barber shop read more

Good guy , funny and honest. Haircut (what hair) was great. I still think $30 is a little rich for middle aged balding guys ik me ..oh well read more

Been going to Ray for years. Tried others and kept coming back. Why I like Ray: The $15 shop have a high turnover. They know you at best through a computer entry. Good people but their shop's focus is on quick turn. Ray is more personable. I like the consistency of my barber as opposed to just being churned every time to someone else or new and who may leave that place next month; (Haircutting people (men & women move around quite a bit.) Ray knows my haircut style (which we evolved over the last 20 some years) and though I test other shops, I kept coming back and enjoying the experience and a good haircut. Am not the only one. From what i see, Lots of people have been with Ray a long time. read more

I have been using Ray for many years. Followed him to his own shop and now use Sam. Sam is very friendly, conscientious, and meticulous about cutting hair. He is a professional and not just someone collecting a paycheck. I have to be honest. My haircut is not a complicated one, but I am sure that if he was cutting hair that needed someone with exceptional skills he would do an exceptional job. I hope this helps. Thank you! read more

With a big personality and quick fingers Ray took good care of me. It was a great haircut and he even did a quick waxing.
