The boat's engine failed on the water, leaving us drifting into a rocky shoreline in dangerous, choppy conditions. Neighbors ran down to help, children were crying, and several people were injured. The company told us not to call the Coast Guard (others did anyway) and promised help--but instead sent two men in a truck who could only take three people, stranding the rest of us with small children and no keys or phones. When we finally got back, the owner was rude, blamed us, insisted his boats never fail, and tried to charge us the full rental plus $2,000 for damages--on the boat that had broken down. Check the Google reviews before booking--this isn't the first time this has happened. Spend your money elsewhere.

A lot of companies charge around $600+ then they throw a $125 fuel charge on it as well. This was the average cost for a full day rental when I was looking. Then I came upon H2O Sports Rentals. I called the number listed and the owner, Nick, answered and was nothing less than professional and knowledgeable. For a full day rental, fuel included, was $400!! He explained everything and in order to book the rental, I had to place a deposit. There was 4 adults and 5 kids total. We rented the pontoon for the full day. Nick met us at the dock on time and went over the boat with me. The trip was amazing and the boat ran great! It's perfect for a large family wanting to relax on the water for a day. The afternoon before, we walked to each of the three liveries on State Street to see what they were about. The young gentleman working the counter in the Carlisle office that afternoon was very helpful and answered our questions. However, the thing that stuck out and sold us was when we were walking out of the office towards the street. The pick-up van had just dropped off a bunch of folks who were retrieved after their trip. As the driver (who we thought was "just" a driver) was parking the van, he made a point of waving to us and wishing us a good afternoon with a genuine smile on his face. We returned the next morning at 9:45am (a chilly 45°F) to find out that the driver from the previous afternoon was in fact the owner Terry....a really personable fellow even in the morning after a super busy weekend. Kudos to Terry and his staff for making us feel welcome. We agreed that he'd meet us at Stephan's Bridge at 1pm. Although the trip is typically billed as a 4-hr journey, we completed the trip in just over 2.5-hrs (no stops). So we waited for 30-mins at Stephan's Bridge, but true to his word Terry's cousin picked us up at 1pm on the dot. Overall...it was a great experience and we'd certainly recommend Carlisle's to anyone. The sales person (Blaine) was terrific & knowledgeable about the watercraft; most importantly let the product speak for itself. Follow up since the purchase (2 months ago) has been superb. They dispatched a survey and followed up 24 hours later to address some small concerns we had. Further, they were amiable about submitting warranty requests on our behalf regarding a couple of problems we discovered as well.
