We feel so incredibly lucky to have found this daycare and honestly can't say enough good things. Our kid LITERALLY runs to the door every morning excited to go -- that alone tells you everything you need to know. The provider feels like family at this point. The love, patience, and support she pours into our child every single day is something you just can't fake. She's created this warm, fun, engaging little world where every kid feels seen and cared for, and you can tell the kids genuinely adore her. A few things that really set this place apart: the music classes are such a fun bonus and the kids light up during them. She also goes ALL OUT decorating the space with different themes to match what they're learning -- it's adorable and you can tell so much thought goes into it. And the communication is next-level. We get pictures and videos throughout the day, which any working parent knows is everything. If we could keep our kid here forever, we absolutely would. We loved sending our daughter to Rayitos! She was there from 2-3.5 years old and was treated with so much love. Silvia, Veronica and Dolores are always so warm at drop off, which was really helpful because our daughter had a hard time saying bye in the mornings. They'd entice her with things she liked and be there to give the comfort she needed. They even made a planet themed month which was her favorite thing to learn about. She learned more Spanish, got excited about gardening and enjoyed how they rotated activities and toys inside and in the outside area. We'd also send our older daughter to drop in on days her school was closed and which was a huge help. And PJ party once a month! My daughter has been at Rayito for almost a year now, and we all love it! Silvia, Vero and Dolores put so much care and attention into their work, and really make sure each kid gets what they need. I like that they are welcoming and encouraging, but never overly pushy if a kid is not feeling up for a certain activity. My daughter happily runs right into Rayito every morning, and we always feel completely at ease having her there. Silvia is very communicative and responsive, and always thinking of new activities for the kids. For the past almost 2 years Rayito has been a second home to our daughter. We feel so incredibly lucky to have found Rayito. Our son has been at Rayito De Sol for 7 months and we are so happy and feel fortunate to be a part of their daycare familia! Silvia and her care team are loving and mindful to the needs of all of the children and families, and our son has learned so much including expanding his language skills in English and Español! I can't rave enough about Rayito de Sol and the nurturing care our daughter received in her 2.5 years there. She started at Rayito at 10 months old and just had her last day at 3.5 to move on to preschool. Not only were the staff a second family to us, the teachers ARE family, Silvia, her mother, sister and daughter all welcome the children and their families with love and patience. Our daughter happily ran (or crawled) in each morning gleefully greeting her teachers and friends. Spanish immersion was a huge positive as well. It took us a couple weeks to realize some of her baby talk was actually Spanish words like " agua" and "gracias". Now she is so proud to "speak Spanish like her teachers". She also came home singing songs from music class with teacher Jamie. "PJ parties" once a month were a hit for the kids and the parent. Communication is clear, frequent, and honest. I felt "in the know" about my daughter's growth and challenges and deeply appreciated the occasional photo or video clip from the day. I don't know how we would have navigated the pandemic without care, flexibility and support we received from Silvia and the other teachers. We miss them already! read more

Rayito De Sol has been such a blessing to our family. Very affordable prices, extra services available, and the BEST staff! The Rayito family has become a part of our family now and I wish we had started daycare sooner so that my daughter could've had more time here! Now that she's grown and is fully potty-trained, she's moving to a preschool. I can say that Rayito's had such an impact on our toddler's growth, as she is more than ready for school now. On my daughter's last day, Silvia went out of her way to take the most adorable graduation photos and put together a binder full of memories and artwork. Truly can't say enough about Director Silvia, Veronica, Dolores, and Ari at Rayito de Sol. They are like family to us and have been caring for our children since 2021. My daughter joined at 12 months and my son at 5 months, and they have both thrived tremendously in Silvia's enriching, bi-lingual, fun and softly structured environment and program. Silvia & her team care deeply for all the children and have kept me and my husband updated on all of their milestones, development, behaviors, education, and even daily updates -- while attending Rayito. My daughter moved onto preschool at age 3 after attending Rayito for 2 years and I can confidently say her time at Rayito prepared her extremely well for preschool as she was immediately one of the most advanced in her class. Sadly my son will now be moving onto preschool too and I only say sadly because we will all miss Rayito so much! We just had another baby and hope to return when we need daycare again. We truly can't thank them enough for all they've done for our kids and prepared them well and provided a nurturing and educating environment while being fun & engaging always. Rayito de Sol was such a great experience for our daughter. She started at Rayito at 15 months until 3.5 years. Silvia and her team (mother, daughter, and sister) are all so loving, caring, and encouraging, and they created a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for our little one. We sent both of our children to Rayito de Sol from the time they were infants until they were ready for preschool. I can't recommend it highly enough! Silvia, Delores, Veronica and Ari are like family to us, and I always felt so lucky to have found a daycare where my children would not only learn and grow and have fun, but also be cared for by the most loving, patient adults. Silvia is also an amazing communicator - she will check in with parents frequently about what's happening with their child or at the school, and is always available to chat about parenting techniques or just life in general. I really can't say enough about Rayito De Sol. We moved to El Cerrito and needed to find a nearby daycare for our then 1 and a half year old daughter. We were luckily able to find a spot at Rayito, and everyone there is just totally wonderful. Our daughter loves it there, and they treat her so well. She always comes home singing their songs, and she often wants to go to daycare on Saturdays :) It's a really great place; they treat all the kids with dignity and respect, and it always seems like great fun! Silvia, the director, is a fabulous communicator, and she always lets us know how the day went and if our daughter needs anything. I can not give enough praise to Silvia and her staff. It feels more like a family than just somewhere where you send your child. I constantly feel the love and care Silvia and her staff have for my son and know he is well cared for. I feel so luck to have found such amazing people and such an amazing place for my little boy to play, learn and grow. Since our preschool closed down due to COVID turbulence, we felt extraordinary lucky to have you found a spot at Silvia's place. Our 3.5 yr old couldn't be any happier. Rayito de Sol is such a gem, and we are so thankful our daughter gets to spend her days in such a loving, caring, supportive environment. Sending your child to daycare is such a hard choice, and I can't speak highly enough of Silvia, Dolores, and Maribel. They make us feel like part of their family. Our daughter has been at Rayito del Sol since she was one year, and now she's almost two. She has learned so much from Silvia and her teachers - she is learning numbers and colors in Spanish and English, and she comes home every day with new words and concepts. Rayito de Sol is my son's home away from home! Most of my pregnancy was spent worrying about where my son would go once I went back to work. I fretted the whole time and then found Rayito de Sol. Silvia, Dolores, Marlen, and Ari are all incredible caregivers. My son has been attending since he was 5 months old (during a pandemic no less!) and he has never experienced anything but love and attention. Their space is warm, clean, and as a pediatric occupational therapist I am especially impressed by the social emotional and developmentally appropriate learning/play they provide their students. The outdoor space is also beautiful and the weekly music classes are wonderful! They know my son in and out and are always open to talking about any concerns and about his development in general. Many things have been unexpected during this pandemic but Rayito de Sol has been such a consistent source of joy and security for our family. My son has attended Rayito De Sol since he was 3 months old. Now almost a year later he is absolutely thriving. As a younger infant, they set him up with a separate area to sleep so he could maintain his nap schedule. He refused to take a bottle from me prior to attending but from day one had no problems eating with them. Now he's walking, playing, eating solids, and more integrated with the other toddlers and is having so much fun. He consistently has a huge smile on his face and is happily playing when I pick him up and often doesn't want to leave. At one year old, he already knows when I say "it's time to go outside" to go get a coat and his shoes, and when I say "it's time to clean up" he happily hands me toys to put away. He learned all this and more at Rayito. Most importantly, I feel very confident that my son feels safe and loved. On a practical note, their hours are excellent, Silvia is great at communicating throughout the day as needed, their facilities are always so incredibly clean, and they provide snacks daily and lunch on Fridays. Silvia's daycare is VERY special. Our son is learning so much every day. He has fun and is well fed. I don't need to take anything (Silvia provides lunch, snacks, water, milk etc). Silvia and her team (all family members) are incredibly kind. They are bilingual too (English/Spanish). The outdoor and indoor areas are wonderful. The outdoor area is protected from the sun and includes a giant sand box and two play houses. I love that there is a range of ages too. We live a way away--it truly is worth the drive over each day. My daughter just started in August at 9 months old and already squeals with happiness when we pull up out front in the mornings. My daughter has been attending Rayito de Sol since she was 8 months old and we are thrilled with the loving care that she has received. They cuddle them, laugh with them, and make up games that are special for each child. They also teach the kids great skills for getting along in a group - sharing, kindness, and constructive play. Our daughter is transitioning to preschool soon, and she is more than ready - Silvia has taught her the alphabet (she is almost reading at age 3 1/2), counting, basic arithmetic, foundations in Spanish, incredible motor control, and much more. We have been a Rayito De Sol family now for the past 4+ years. My son, now 5, and my daughter, now 2, both started with Silvia in infancy. In short, we love the team at Rayito de Sol and are so grateful to have them. Silvia, her mom Dolores, and her assistant Maribel, have been another home and family for our kids. It is remarkable to find a place with the combination of love, fun, and structure that Silvia provides. They have circle time twice a day, plenty of outdoor play when weather permits, music class each week with Teacher Meghan, and regular art projects. There are fruit trees in the backyard and a fish tank that the kids love. Silvia makes it work for kids of all ages. As infants my kids had ample one on one attention and quiet space when needed from the big kids. As they got bigger, they were able to participate more in activities. When my older visits now he has age appropriate reading and craft activities to occupy him. Silvia also has been amazing at teaching the kids how to share and treat each other with love and respect. Most tellingly, both of my kids look forward to going to school and speak all the time about their beloved teachers. We love Rayito De Sol! read more
