Tried this place shortly after dining in was available again. Looks like a warehouse from the outside. Thought it'd be cool to visit for the food and the pool tables which are at the front. Ordered Nachos, Wings, French Onion Soup. Overall, the food was not too good. The nachos were kind of cold to begin with, and the cheese didn't taste great. The wings were OK. Food is served in huge portions and the facility itself is massive, allowing for plenty of billiards tables.

Raxx is a large pool hall that has tons of tables and a good atmosphere for a night out. It's got tons of seating, space for live music (most weekend evenings) and a dance floor. Basically, it's a huge spot with something for everyone. It's great because you probably won't have trouble getting a table and the service is good, too. Terrible Service, Prices on bill were higher then shown on menu ! Food is terrible (stick to chicken wings) super slow kitchen. This is more of a bar/club than a place to eat. They should give up on the food. We had a reservation they made us get up and change tables 3 times ! Was not busy but still took 1 hour & 15 min to get a pizza (not a fresh one) some of the food at our table came out 45 min before others. I have heard wonderful things about Raxx, especially regarding their specials. Today, I decided to stop in because of what my neighbours and friends have said about their food. Normally, I write pretty positive reviews of restaurants, particularly locally owned ones as I promote our local industries. However, this is not the case today. I went in to Raxx to ask if there was any way that I could do take away wings on the wing day. I informed the server/hostess at the front that my friends and neighbours have highly recommended their wings and their ribs. I explained that I am a 24/7 caregiver for a 90 year old with Alzheimer's and that I do not have care after 3 on Wednesdays. She informed me that they had rules that you had to eat in. She did inform me that I could get 25% off for take-away. I asked if there was any way that the restaurant could make an exception for the wing night as I could not bring a 90-year old into the venue. I did not raise my voice, I did not swear, nor was I being offensive in any way. After all, I was asking for a favour - so why be hostile. She said that she would ask the manager and I thanked her for that. 30 seconds later, the manager rushes down at me and points his finger at the door and screams at me, "Get out!" I was absolutely shocked. I asked him what was going on and he yelled at me "Get out!" I thought he used the f-bomb, but perhaps in my shock he hadn't, but he screamed three times at me and said that I had raised my voice to his server. I informed him that I hadn't and he yelled at me again to get out. I looked over at the server and said, "I didn't yell at you and I wasn't rude." She told me that I had raised my hands and she demonstrated that I had put my hands up in a goal post kind of formation. Actually, it was a pleading shrug that people use when they hope someone is understanding their position. I use my hands when I speak, but there was nothing aggressive with such a movement. Needless to say, I told them that they wouldn't have my business and the manager said that he didn't need it. I don't ask for special favours as a rule, but I was pretty excited about the possibility of trying their food. It's not an option for me to go to this pub as their specials start after 4. Even IF I had been rude, which I had not been nor have I ever been rude to servers, the manager's reaction was unprofessional and extraordinarily offensive. I hope that no one else ever asks for any special considerations or requests. I'd hate to see how such would be misconstrued. I hope that those who go to Raxx continue to enjoy their food. After such treatment, I will not be going. read more

Had the Chicken Caesar wrap for dinner at Raxx and it was pretty delicious. Couldn't finish the whole wrap as the portion was huge. The atmosphere of the bar was okay, not impressive. Guess it could be one of the options to hang out with friends if you guys want to play pool. read more

I've been to Raxx bar and Grill a few times especially when they were pretty much the only place to go in the west end. Every time I've been it's either worse than the last time or the same it never gets better. They do offer live entertainment and unless playing pool you probably don't want to go for any other reason. Bathrooms are terrible, it was so bad the one night I had to let the hubby use the girls bathroom because the men's had some issues with bad toilets....No one cleaned them at all after that we pretty much left. It took the bar staff forever to figure out what our charges were and it was way more than we expected for ordering nachos, and three drinks. The portion of food was great but it was obvious the food had been sitting. The nachos were soggy and gross we didn't even eat half of it and we complained right away getting it it didn't matter. The dance floor isn't big enough for the amount of people that go. I really don't want to dance with some skank in a animal body dress barely covering her ass is bumping into everyone. Perhaps a great place to pick up escorts I'm not sure. The staff doesn't seem to know how to make drinks or it's too loud for them to hear what you're ordering I had to send my drink back twice then tell her how to make the drink. I asked her " is this your first night" I wasn't being rude but she snapped right back "NO i've worked here for a while". Well from my view I was hoping it was your first night working. I know lots of work places do hangouts here but honestly ask your workplace to pick a different place. I have no plans of ever going back unless they do an entire staff rehaul. Maybe other then the chef I honestly don't think the chef was given a fair chance not so much because of his cooking but because the staff he works with is terrible. I'm only guessing that because I know from cooking myself nachos only get soggy from sitting or using old nacho chips. I think the chef prob did make them right away but until I asked where the nachos were they never got picked up paying almost $20 for nachos with beef way to much for the quality of food. Perhaps Raxx just needs a better manager. The bar in real life is nothing at all like they promote it. However I've heard they have great ribs but I honestly know other places that make great ribs and I wouldn't go there just for ribs. read more

This place sucks! It looked like great fun when I first walked in, but that all changed quickly. My friends and I didn't get our first round of drinks for 15-20 minutes. Played some pool, drank our beers and turned on the red light above the pool table (this allegedly beckons a waitress to take your order) 10-15 minutes later, no server. No drinks. Went out for a smoke. This was probably the most satisfying part of my evening. Came back in and decided to sit at the bar to get my pint instead of waiting for my so called server. At least 15 minutes went by before the bartender was able to pour me one. Granted she was very gracious as they were out of the pint I wanted and offered a sample of something very similar. But still ... 2 hours in this establishment and they managed to sell me all of 2 beers, which were decidedly far less than a true pint of beer. My first time there will also be my last. So long Raxx. Get out of the alcohol selling business and get into having people sit around and wait for your inept staff. It seems right up your alley. read more

Never will I go to Raxx again!!!!!!! I attended this place approximately 3 weeks ago. I came from out of town to visit a friend and, in the past, we would often go for drinks, dancing, pool, etc. While I was at Raxx, I had set my wallet on a table bside the dance floor where my friend and I were dancing. I put it here, so that we could keep an eye on it from where we were. I walked to the other side of the dance floor and when I returned, my wallet was gone. My friend and I looked around for it, asking several people along the way if they had seen it. No one had. As I was looking, my friend turned to me and said, that guy that we just asked seemed to be acting very strange when asked if he had seen/taken your wallet. She pointed to the man who was now headed for the door. I followed him towards the front entrance where the bouncers were about 5-10 ft. away. I stopped the man and asked once again if he had taken my wallet. He said no. I could see that there was something bulky in the pouch of his hoodie where he had his hands hiding, so I, without asking, reached right into his pocket and sure enough, pulled out my wallet! At this point in time, I was extremely angry. The man then proceeded to head towards the door after being busted. The bouncers at this point, who had watched everything go down, said absolutely NOTHING! They did not kick him out. They did not tell him not to come back. They did not question his actions at all! At this point, my friend and I decide that it's time to go, so we grab all of our stuff and head for the entrance. As we walk out the door, there are 3 bouncers all there, socializing, laughing and conversing with this man who just stole my wallet! Here is everyone's "heads up" before ever coming to this place. They are allowing and condoning people like this to enter and hang out at this establishment. Surely it's not the first time this has happened and surely it won't be the last! Keep your belongings in your hands at all times and TRUST NO ONE. Not even the employees! read more
