I stopped in to The Finch recently and it served as a great location for a catch up over coffee with my sister. There was a steady flow of customers throughout our hour and a bit there ranging from couples, mums and solo laptop warriors all seeking a decent cup of joe (we can assume). Of course, I couldn't leave without ordering their lemongrass bánh mì. They claim to be Toowoomba's only spot to order up this Vietnamese sandwich and from my local experience, I'd say they're right. It was a great all round bánh mì - particularly if you're new to the concept - but for me I would have loved the addition of pâté to give it that extra flavour and oomph. There's ample sweets and standard cafe fare to please any number of appetites. Stop by and spend a while - it's certainly running for top spot next to Firefly for me.

They really should open more -- I think they'd do quite well all over Australia. Made is not just another boring sandwich place. Their flavours are interesting and a little bit experimental, and their ingredients are very fresh. They have a variety of proteins on the menu, including two veggie burgers. They also have a few salads and a separate kids' menu. I had the Ah-Maizing Courgette, with a patty made out of potato, corn and zucchini, topped with pumpkin dahl and vegan lemon mayo. It sounds like a really weird combination of flavours but it was delicious! My parents had roast beef and chicken burgers and also found them quite nice. If you're vegan, just be aware that not all of their breads are vegan, so you have to ask. You also have to specify that you want the vegan lemon mayo instead of the regular mayo. Staff is of the young-and-confused variety, seemingly very undertrained, but maybe they were all just really new. They were definitely friendly even though they had to go and ask their manager a lot of questions. Prices are good, although when you add in sides it can get to be a bit pricey. Atmosphere-wise, the place is very trendy-looking with dark walls, a splashy mural and slick decor, but you're always still very much aware that you're inside a big touristy shopping mall. You can also sit outside in the sunshine if you want to people-watch. Definitely a good place to grab a quick but tasty lunch if you're in Maroochydore.
