Great restaurant serving the German standards. Dined here twice during our stay and they did a superb job taking care of a very large group on the second visit. The management is awesome as they opened special for us on a Sunday evening during the holiday season. Food was great, on both occasions, as was the service. Out for some shopping and decided to sit outside for lunch. We were lucky to find this sweet spot as they were opening for lunch. Other tables were finishing coffee so I was happy to find we could make lunch selections with the bustle. We sat outside in the square and people watched as she brought our menus. English and German, I like both menus! They had a full Spargel menu, plus the specials. I'm an easy sell for jaegerschnitzel and my husband ordered the cordon bleu. His food disappeared before I could try It, but im guessing it was good. Our service was perfect and she inquired just perfectly. Cute little restaurant! Waitress was very nice to us foreigners & their service was fairly quick. The only downside was that the waitress messed up our order & charged us the additional fee even though we weren't served what we asked for in the first place. My husband and I enjoyed dinner here last night. I had the Sauerbraten mit Pommes (not a big fan of Knödel), and he had the Schweinshaxe mit Knödel. We both loved our entrées. The servings were massive, and the food was delicious. That was some of the best Sauerbraten I have ever had. The sauce wasn't thin and watery. It was thick and hearty. I loved it. It tasted great with the meat and the Pommes. The beef was so tender that I didn't need a knife to cut through it. The mixed salad was equally delicious. Der Schatz enjoyed his Schweinshaxe. He was born and raised in Weiherhammer, and although he'd never been to the Ratskeller, he said the food was very good. The atmosphere was very pretty -- almost like we had traveled back in time a few hundred years. The stained glass windows were stunning. The service was very efficient. I wouldn't have minded a slower pace though just for a little more time to bask in my surroundings. I really enjoyed this restaurant, and I hope to be back soon. read more

Very good quality local food at very reasonable rate. Been there with pleasure several times. Never tried the 'international' parts of the menu. Dont eat fries or cordon bleu but local dishes. read more
